My sister and I are headed to Sedona May 10 to see another sister who resides there (just recently). Can anyone from that area help with some recommendations on reasonable hotels? She is in the area West of I-79 and 89A.

Thanks!

CJ - Sedona, Arizona???

If so,,,isn't much there that is reasonable,,,,,its a resort type town, as you probably know,,,, with very affluent residents. The hotels are mostly "resort oriented" types,,,,but I'll check further.

Thanks Ken!

Wow,,,didn't know they had a Comfort and a La Quinta Inn there,,,,,,around $100 per night is very, very reasonable for Sedona. Many places there go for $200 to $400 per night. I'd make an early reservation at that $100 figure, jmo.

I already did a search.......but since I am totally unfamiliar with the area, I asked for help in the area where she is located (which I indicated). I can't tell where these hotels are. I was hoping that someone who was familiar with the area could narrow it down. Sorry I asked.

There is no I-79 highway,,,,,there is a St.Rt. 179 is probably what you meant? 89A comes into Sedona from the west,,,goes through the town of Sedona, and then turns north towards Flagstaff. If your sister is west of highway 179 and west on 89A,,,she is located just outside of the town of Sedona.

These hotels are relatively close:

Comfort Inn - 725 S.R. 179 Sedona,,,86336

Super 8 - 2545 W. Highway 89A Sedona,,,85336

La Quinta - 6176 Highway 179 Sedona,,,86351

Put your sister's exact address into MAPQUEST.COM
http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp

and the address' of the above hotels, and that will show you the exact distance from hotels to her home there.

All of the above should be within a few miles from where she lives.

Thanks, Larry.......I was going by what she told me. She just recently moved there, she obviously was confused and didn't have the 79 thing right. She is living with a "group" of people there (which is why we are coming to check on her) and all I have for her is a PO address. Makes it sort of difficult when all she gave me was an "area", especially when you don't know the area at all.

CJ,

Sedona is not a really large town. My wife and I stayed at the Raddison Hotel and Resort a couple of years ago. A really nice place on the south side of town. I have also been there many times for shooting the Jeep Dealer catalogs. We would spend a few weeks in that area of Arizona then move around the rest of the state. The whole down town area is maybe a mile long. Very nice area of Arizona to see.

Like Alley Cat said, there are many varieties to stay at and I have stayed at many of them in different price ranges. For the medium price, I like the Raddison the best.

Thank you Norb, I appreciate the info. My thanks to you and Larry both for narrowing it down to the area I need to be in.

Is there more than one zip code for Sedona? If so, that would help narrow it down. If not, it must be fairly close together. I drove thru there after leaving the Grand Canyon tour on the way to Phoenix. It seemed to me that is was narrow east to west, but a lot longer north to south but that was 4 1/2 years ago and I was not paying attention.

Thanks, Ed.......but I think that this post should come to an end. According to Tytanium, I don't deserve any help.

Ty-k,

one thing I know.. is that every voice, no matter how big or how small deserves the right to be heard... Its the "Free Speech" concept that every one values so much.

You shouldn't feel that because you have a different opinion than others , that you will get "dog piled"...I don't agree with some of your points regarding Michael, but I respect your opinion and like to hear the other side of the story... heck, maybe i'm miss informed...

This world needs people to speak up for themselves, feel that what they have to say is worth something and not be just "Followers" that fear to disagree.

I like your "Tell it like it is" style and hope you continue to post whatever you like respectfully and without cussin its what makes our countries great !!

Some live to share,

Some live to ridicule,

Some live to learn,

Me, I'm a little P.O.'d because HE only gives me
24 hours each day to get my act together and it's not near enough. If it was enough, I'd learn.

I only ridicule when my cranium is up my rectum. That's the same time when my foot is in my mouth. At that point, there's not much I can learn.

In the mean time, allow me to "hang out" with those who share.
Their hearts are always in the right place......
There's always plenty to learn..............

Ty-K,

Not taking sides here but it seems to me that,
You've stepped over the line previously drawn regarding vendettas or personal attacks.

I personally hate to see posts like this on the POA site. It makes the rest of us look bad and I need no help in that department.

"Voice of the people"?
Speak for yourself and I'll promise do the same.

One of the most INCREDIBLE and PRECIOUS rights in this country is the FREEDOM OF SPEECH !!

The only places you're getting punished for your personal opinions are China or Russia (or Cuba) -
would be a damn shame to see this trent continue in this beautiful country !!
