I think COSTCO has some pretty good deals on them.

I bought an ipod by HP in January from Amazon.com (actually from one of their partnered companies). Also bought a wireless FM transmitter. I use it primarily in the Prowler - but also in our other vehicles.

Thanks Bob, checked out Costco but they don't have the 20 GB model, unfortunately !

Thanks Janet for that Info - question for ya, does the FM transmitter lower the volume considerably (compared to a regular CD for example ?)
Reason for asking - in a previous vehicle we had we had a cd changer installed that was operated THROUGH a FM transmitter and they quality/volume was considerably lower than the 'regular', wire connection.

Well, maybe technology has evolved since then but I'd appreciate anyone's further comments or experiences with that 'lil gadget !

I haven't really noticed any degradation in quality as compared to the CD player ... but I don't have very discriminating tastes when it comes to stereo quality As long as I can hear my tunes ... I haven't had much of problem with interference from other FM transmitters; but I'm in a somewhat rural area with not a lot of FM stations.

I'm using a Monster iCarPlay iPod Wireless FM Transmitter. It plugs into the outlet for power and charges the ipod at the same time. I really like using the ipod as I have about 100 albums on it at the moment and still have lots and lots of space left for more. Added benefit is the car can keep its stock appearance and I can still play my mp3's. Since I drive on some rural roads, I don't have any irritating CD skips any more either.

Very good points Janet, ESPECIALLY the 'skipping' part is quite a problem !

Thanks again for the info - we probably will give that transmitter a try !
