A mixture of early Chevrolet trucks --- influenced a lot by the 1949 Suburban.

Which also influenced the design of the new Chevrolet HHR. Which should do better than the SSR in sales. Two engines a 2.2-litre, 140 horsepower 4-cyclinder and a 2.4-litre, 170 horsepower 4-cyclinder.

MD - quote from Ron's link:

"Chevrolet has traveled back again to 1953 for inspiration and produced the stunning Super Sport Roadster concept truck that debuted earlier this year at the North American International Auto Show."

That 1953 pick up looks a lot better than my ex wife born the same year! (Of course, the '53 truck could have been made in 1952 I guess)

AC, I did read that but I don't think it's entirely correct. The truck pictured IS a Chevrolet but it was never produced or sold in the US. Note the 'El Camino' type body. Not a true pick-up. I saw this last month in a muscle car showroom/museum in Tampa, FL.

How about one more picture before revealing the answer?

Bob says he thinks it is the Austrialian...Holden Ute? It appears to be a right-hand drive vehicle.

And the winner is Bob! It is a 1948 Holden-Chevrolet "UTE". The right hand drive was the hint. Good job Bob!
NOTE: It was also underpowered

I just noticed it says it was produced from 1934-1938 but it is a 1948? I didn't pick that up before
