Came across an ad in the newspaper for a 1996 Viper RT-10, 1 of 324, White with blue strips, hard & soft tops, 10K miles. Price: $49,900

Tangled (or any of you other viper owners) - Do you have any info on this model year or opinions on the price?

Thanks!

Price seems a tad high depending on condition. There is a wide spread between great cars and not so great cars. I'd guess that range on this model would be upper 30's to low to mid 40's

no expert here...

the 96 Rt/10 had white wheels which are a major b!tch to keep clean.....the stripe on the 96 is also not popular with enthusiasts for some reason....but that is all a matter of personal taste anyway...

...1 of 324....numbers game...all Vipers are low production numbers....I have one that is 1 of 22 and one that is 1 of 34....no big deal on them either...

...it is not a "side pipe" car which makes it less desireable to hard core RT/10 enthusiasts....

...$$$$ seems way to high....I would expect to see it in the $35K range instead of $50....my daughter sold her 2001 yelo RT/10 last year for $49K with 7K miles.....

...I would pass on it at that price unless it was EXACTLY what I dreamed of and couldn't live without it....

...a 2003 Viper SRT with low miles is starting to hit the high $50K range already.....bottom line, it's just too high in my opinion...

Thanks Wayne and Larry - Two excellent sources!

Curiosity got the best of me. I've had the ad sitting by my computer for a while but didn't know enough about the '96 to be comfortable calling about it.

I think I'll stick with my 'birds and kat and stay away from the snakes for a while - too easy to get bit!
