Wonders never cease, huh! I guess you ARE innocent until proven guilty and according to the jurors...the prosecution did not prove their case.

Good for him--She wasn't a saint from what I hear! If they couldn't prove it I don't think he did it! But then again OJ was guilty but he got away! Oh well at least SCOTTIE is Going where he belongs. My vote is tie a anchor around him and drop him off the Golden Gate bridge on Pay for View Special. The proceeds should go to laceys family and other charities! JMO. I'd pay $50 in a second!------------------

CJ is correct - the prosecution, for whatever reason, did not persuade the jury beyond a reasonable doubt. In reading the juror's comments, it seems like their case was very circumstantial and weak.I hadn't been paying any attention to the case at all, but never really got the impression he had much of a defense, but it is the proescutor's burden, not the defendant's. "Beyond a reasonable doubt" is a tough standard, and our country's legal system is based on the assumption that it is better to let 100 guilty persons go free than to wrongfully convict even 1 innocent person. So, justice was done here, whether we personally like the results or not. It serves no purpose to second-guess the jurors - we weren't there to hear the testimony, and once the jury has had its say, our job is to understand the way our system works and to accept the result, and defer to those that heard all of the evidence and the judge's instructions.

CTProwler, when did you become such a "softie"?? Why let Peterson get it over with in a mere 15 seconds??I like the idea that he will rot for 30 years or so on Death Row, but I doubt he'll make it that long....something about inmates that don't like guys who kill babies, I think.... That, plus the end of racial/ethnic segregation in Calfornia prisions...Yep, I think Peterson is in for a lot of suffering before he checks out!!! As it should be....

Blake went back in to the restaurant to get the gun he left behind, and comes out to find his wife shot?? I mean , you can't make that up. Can you?? It might have something to do, as Chuck implied, that she had it coming. ------------------ BackinBlack

OK...you got my $50 too!!! Anymore takers? No matter what happens to that scumbag...he still has to meet his maker. That's the guy he has to be worried about. Not "Bubba" in the cell next to him that's looking for a new girlfriend. In addition to Chucks idea in raising the money for Lacy's family is that we won't have to use our tax money to foot the bill for his extended stay suite. Goodnight everyone! Brian

She may not have been a saint, but she didn't deserve to die for that, either. Who said he was a totally upstanding person, either?

I saw on some quasi news show that the busboys said they cleaned their table within a minute after they left and did not see a gun or him come back into the restaurant. Who knows. Maybe he will find the killer on the golf course or get hit with an errant wedge shot.

I heard that the inmates at San Quentin started cheering and celebrating to the point they had to do a temporary lock down to restore order when it was announced that Scott Peterson would be sent there. The guys couldn't wait to get their hands on him.Just a rumor I heard, but probably has a lot of truth init.
