One of the guys from the Hazzard Net did a little photoshop work and converted the new Dodge Charger into a Gen Lee... Here's the quote & pics from Hazzard Net...
I made two pictures in Photoshop. The first one that I posted, I turned the car into a 2 door, made it orange, put an "01" on the door and some General Lee wheels. I got to fiddling around with the picture more and I stretched the front of the car and also moved the front wheels slightly forward, I stretched the rear of the car but left the wheels where they were originally and I added some curves and widened the C-pillar to make it a little more like the 2nd generation Chargers. The actual 2006 Charger is only a 4 door and looks like this (this is the picture that I started with): The original Charger Gen Lee...

Nope - still not a Charger. A Magnum maybe, but not a Charger, especially not a General Lee Charger!

I added the original Charger Gen Lee to pics above. That modified New Charger beats the original...

Put the SRT 425 HP Hemi in it and I'd use it as a daily driver!

Maybe it's me but the shape reminds me of an old Monte Carlo. Not terribly original looking in my book.

I like the two door model Laddie. Thanks for the post. If you build these cars I might have to buy one. Gordon

if it were just a bit longer from the back of the door to the front of the rear wheelwell... with a stretched roofline to match, more like the old... we'd be there!

Were the old Chargers an INSTSANT hit or did it take some getting used to? I don't recall being wild about the shape, myself but I have never been on the cutting edge of anything (except the Prowler).

I don't recall the 66 or 67 model years being wildly popular (but I sure would like to own one now!), but the 68, 69 and 70 models were very popular as I recall.I owned two 68's - one with a 383 and one with a 440. This message has been edited by Bob Miller on 03-15-2005 at 09:23 PM

from the sales of the `68 I would say it was an instant HIT
now the `66~67 Chargers were not the sales leaders that they wanted. One that I really like and would love to have Larry Lords 66, but have no place to put it. Plus if I were to buy it the standing offer form Larry to use it if I come out would be gone......LOL

I'd love to see a true to original style 68-70 Charger , scaled down to just a little bigger than the crossfire, equipped with a hemi....... I would buy one in a minute...
