A non plate race in Las Vegas is about to start..

I'm always in Rusty's corner at every race .... Kenseth will be tough to beat, he's won the last two races here....Mark Martin will be in the top 3....Tony will be in the top five at the end...

it will be interesting how many engines give up the ghost....and who make them.....

last 40 laps will be wild !! lots of wrecks today...

enjoy.......go baby go !!!!!

Nascar found the roof was too low on JJs car. Thet usually don't take away a win. Just $ and points.

Not wanting to provoke a full-blown riot on the boards here, and acknowledging right up front that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, I just wondered if all of you NASCAR fans heard about the suspension and fining of crew chiefs from 3 major teams for blatant cheating (yeah, I know, a bolt slipped, suspension drooped, etc.) including (if you can even believe this) rigging a fuel tank to read "full" when it only had a few gallons on board.

In a public statement (consistent, in my opinion, with the typical NASCAR I.Q.), one of the crew chiefs expressed no regret or shame, and said now that he knows how he got caught, he would (and will) do it again.

I don't know if anyone else in the world shares my opinion, but this (in my mind, at least) cements NASCAR's image as the lowest form of motor racing known to mankind, far below tractor pulls and monster trucks.

The cheating, the arrogance of the sanctioning body (anybody remember the cover-up a couple of years back of the circumstances surrounding the death of that driver whose harnesses allegedly failed, and cost Bill Simpson his company??), the endless, boring hours-long circular parade of identical cars, and the whole Southern redneck mentality and image is a blight on motor racing in general.

NASCAR is the WWF of motorsports, and it is hard for me to understand how anyone can take it as a serious form of competitive motorsports.

Obviously, even the most respected and admired participants don't!!!!

JMO - just wanted to vent after reading this jerk's statement. Anybody want to hazard a guess at how much a NASCAR crew chief makes, and then they cheat????

Unbelievable lack of integrity....

God, I know this post is gonna get me banned or shot with someone's squirrel rifle or something....

agreed... its shamefull, and by not DQ'ing JJ and Harvick , they make the only shame is being caught, not the crime itself.

Punishment for cheating should be suspension for the entire year....end of story.

reality is that all sports stink of cheating in one way or another.....ALL...some just haven't gotten caught yet...

I love NASCAR....but i would love it more if they did something about the dishonesty....

go Rusty !!

It's all about the money. That's all. Money in all sports. Killing sports as we remember them years ago.

Hey D.E.D, That's your opinion, that's cool. But you actually seem like you are trying to be insulting, and you are enjoying being insulting. Difference in opinions are 1 thing, but debating with insulting, rude, misinformed people is another. I usually just smirk and walk away. But what the heck... It is funny because some people yearn for the days when Nascar was more "REDNECK" with not as many pretty boys or the influx of college educated drivers like there is now. Some say there is to much regulation today and that EVERYONE used to look for gray areas where there might be an advantage somwhere and it was a wink and a smile. You want to follow elitest drivers from countries I have never been to, with names I can't pronounce, in cars that are more computer and nasa than automobiles, go ahead. I have stated it here before, most of the people that attend these Nascar events , the majority of family men and women that are associated with Nascar teams and the HONEST TO GOODNESS ,(not wwf) competition that these people are invoved with, the sweat, tears , injuries, and triumphs, are what make this sport what it is and what I like about it. I live about 1 hour from NYC, the last place you would think there could be Nascar fans, and I know hundredes. EVERY walk of life, every age. Are we all just brainwashed into thinking this is legit?? These races, these EVENTS, are a huge RUSH. If you don't get a rush out of being in Daytona with 200,000, friendly!! people and seeing 43 cars come off the highbanks at 200mph, the sound, the feel ,the smells, then you got BIGGER problems then not liking ole REDNECK Nascar, and all the toothless, in bred, drunk, confederate flag waving fans. You know what the real difference is with you and myself and other Nascar fans, we go to races, and there are people rooting for 43 different drivers and teams, many of us drinking a cold beer,(very redneck) ,arguing over strategies and cars and pits and racing in general... and we never end up sounding as prejudiced, insulting, condesending and down right IGNORANT (not my first choice) as you. Now there is an opinion.

DED--what's your profession?? The pot calling the kettle black. With NASCAR making the rules to protect the racers from them selves, the teams do what they can to get the edge. Beating the techs has been NASCAR tradition from the git go. What goes on now is tame to what the good old boys did. I'm not condoning cheating BTW, but you push the envelope anyway you can or the sponsor bucks dry up without an occasional win. swim or sink. Ever see the IROC series with the cars all the same. SNORE. It's getting to be that way with the cup racers now. Dale SR died not only because of his harness failure, but because of his failure to upgrade to a full face helmet. Lots of opinions there I'm sure, but because of his death,Cup racing has become safer with soft barriers and head and neck restraints. What ever it's become, it is, and there's no turning back. Funny that the WWF of motor sports is the largest drawing spectator sport--bar none. Guess that doesn't say much for us fans in your eyes. Just my opinion.

You are all over it Butchee. Next thing you know we will hear that Dale Sr. is dealing cards in Vegas. I heard once that most homophobes were really one themselves. Hmmmmm. I wonder if it is the same with Nascarphobes/ bashers. Is that it D.E.D, you really want to be Dale Jr.,don't you, and your just mad that he went out early on Sunday ,is that it?? lol..lol What do they say?... Try it, you might like it. Is that what you are afraid of ,huh, huh? It might fit? Butchee, spent the weekend in your old stomping grounds, goddaughters birthday party in Farmingdale and stayed in Massapequa. No Kat with me though. You miss the island yet?

Tom, I went to back to the Island about 3 weeks ago for the same reason as you--the grandkid's birthday. Stayed overnight.
I don't know if I should feel guilty or not, but I couldn't wait to get back to Pa, and not because of the company in NY. Went by my old house of 50 years and felt no connection. Sure,it was closer to everything, but not a trade off for living in a country setting. I'm lovin it.

Cj, Didn't you know,Martha Stewart had that done when she was in prison. Leona Helmsley had Mark Martin's car and # put on her back when she was in. Typical Nascar I.Q.

I DO love stirring things up here from time to time, and this is one of them ;-)

You guys are so serious, I figured someone would recognize blatant "baiting" when they saw it, and at least a couple of you did....

It's just that you NASCAR fans are SO EASY to get riled up, I couldn't pass up the chance after I read that article....

Live and let live, and I will now remove my tongue from my cheek....

BTW, I did go to a NASCAR race about 4 years ago, and my son and I still laugh about it to this day, so I guess we must have enjoyed it a little....

Peace, love, joy and a copy of the NASCAR rule book to all....
