Before striking out on their own, FOGHAT (Fool For The City, Rock and Roll Outlaws, etc) were members of what British blue band?

Excellent questions, Bob. I have no idea.

One of my very first concerts was Foghat. Great tunes!

The British blues group that the members of FOGHAT came from was SAVOY BROWN. The group was originally called SAVOY BROWN BLUES BAND.

Savoy Brown got it's name from the most expensive hotel in London at the time, The Savoy. And since they were a blues band, they added "Brown" to the name as a tribute to James Brown and Ruth Brown.

The only reason I know is that Savoy Brown was playing at little dive near my house so I went to see them and had a chance to talk to them after the show. Good blues boogie music and friendly guys. They'll be at the Chicago Blues Festival in July.

Trivia question:

1969 - World wide #1 hit song. Name the song? Name the artist(s)? Clue: Only hit record [he/she/they?] ever recorded,,,and did it by borrowing $500 to record the song.

Mike Gatlin - due to your former career position, you are excluded from answering.

Well I'd guess Zager & Evans from my home town with their song "In the Year 2525." They were one-hit wonders in 69.

Actually I'm from Kansas City, Missouri originally and Zager and Evans used to play in a little coffee shop on main street. I always thought they were from KC!!!

Good question!

Speaking of Nebraska music trivia, did you ever hear of a group out of Omaha called "Ogden Edsell?"

Only Edsel I knew was named Ford, lol.

Zager & Evans were from Lincoln, Ne. [AC's home town]
http://www.zager.com/ez-dz.htm
Full story on right hand side.

I worked with Denny Zager's sister at a Ford dealership there. They made a bundle of $$$ off that record in 1969, so they invested it into a home television antenna business,,,,to be set for life, they thought. The next year, cable tv lines came to Lincoln and that was the beginning of the end for tv antenna businesses. Bad business decision! To be fair,,,Denny Zager went on to invent and market some kind of special guitar, but it didn't get the AC Stamp of Approval, lol.

"There was this guy who went to the dentist to get a tooth pulled.

First off the dentist said, "I'll give you a shot to numb your jaw."

But the guy said, "No, please don't do that, I'm afraid of needles."

The dentist said, "OK, I'll get out the gas to put you to sleep."

However the guy said, "Nope, I'm allergic to the gas."

So the dentist said, "Just a minute, I'll go look for something else."

After awhile he came back with a couple of pills. The guy asked, "What kind of pills are those?"

The dentist said, "Viagra." The guy said, "WHAT! Why these?"

The dentist said, "They won't help the pain, but they'll give you something to hang on to while I pull your rotten tooth!

WOW! That kinda blows me away. I saw them 27 years ago and hadn't heard of them since. I thought they faded off into nowhere til someone up your way mentioned them about 6 months ago. The music wasn't too bad. I thought the "show" was a little... strange? At least, their get-up was. Don't know if they still wear the same stuff. (5 appendage body suits.) The lady I was dating at the time knew them.
I've heard of Jonah and the Wailers, but haven't heard them.

Mickey - I hired them for a client in the early 90's. They were (are) quite a show band and got the audience involved. We saw them at one of the stops on Cruisin the Coast a couple of years ago.- couldn't miss the 2 foot high hair!

They have one of the classic Chrismas Songs you here every year on the radio.
