We've been waiting all winter to watch the NASCAR guys hit the track for the 2005 season...wouldn't it be cool to see a prowler pace car !! I'm hoping for Rusty as always... its easier now that he driving Mopar... but its hard not to count out Jimmy J, Ryan Newman, Little E, Jiffy, Mark Martin and all the dark horses..... despite all that is wrong with todays NASCAR.. it still has alot of good things....Hope they all make it out safe, the race is close, and none of the wet stuff.... my pick today is Tony.... I think he will be there at the end. have fun..... go baby go!!! |

I wait all winter for Indy car action to begin, not nascar, but I'll watch it. Last year I took Casey Kane as my favorite,,,,just too young and without the experience couldn't do better than 2nd place finishes. This kid will be a star someday,,,just give him a few more years. This year,,,,my heart wants to say 'go with Mark Martin',,,but we all become tired with age and those nerves of steel have withered,,so I'll go with Ryan Newman [Lethia's choice from last year]. He will probably not win today,,this is a DEI race we all know, but for the long haul I'll go with the AllTel #12 Dodge. Butchcee - your next, tell us again,,,about your 'boy'. I would really like to see Mark Martin win! If not Mark, Rusty would be a good choice. No DEI entry for a change. ------------------ |

It would be great to see Mark or Rusty do well in their last season... but sometimes the retirement doesnt last long...they love to race.... |

My guy is Dale Jr. Although I don't like Chevy very much, just the driver. It kind of showed yesterday though that he may not have the best team together to do it, or the best car. Would like to see Jarrett do it just for the nostalgia end of it. Or better yet, Cale Yarbough,, lol (sp) |

...I would like to see just one race per year run as a tribute to the past....for instance, this year it is 1959...each car must look like its 1959 counterpart.....next year 1967 etc etc....they have the $$$ to pull this off and I think it would be the most interesting Nascar race of the year... ...I used to watch the Wide World of Sports to see the races ...they only broadcast a few per year and they were usually cut to an hour and sometimes had figure skating interspersed with the racing action...remember Smoky Joe Yunick driving away from the inspectors with no fuel tank in his car(cheating maybe).... Petty, Cale, Buddy, all the good old boys....I really enjoyed those times....they were real characters, good or bad, not "Ken Doll" corporate spokes models like many of todays drivers.... Martin is NOT retiring, last year for Nextel cup, then Busch , then ASA, then some local track stuff... Anybody but Busch, Tony, Rusty. I just hope for a safe season and we don't loose anyone. I like Kevin as some of you know I sponsored him in this last years in Go Karts. If you had watch closely Jimmy did back into Kevin to cause the BIG ONE. I still tear up when they talk about Dale Sr. There will be a big one today but let it be safe. Let's have a safe race. The open wheel stuff is DEAD and will never see the light of day. Sorry AC |

Off to take Patty to the airport, flying to Indy. I will join her shortly. Can't wait to see what's posted when I get back. Still hoping for Little E, or Mike even. DEI This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 02-20-2005 at 02:00 PM |

Not much of a car race watcher, but since building a home theater we catch different shows. We are watching the Daytona 500 in HD and 5.1 surround sound. Feels like we have the best seats of all. 1/4 of the way complete:

i have a feeling the last 20 laps are going to be wild... Rusty is doing a great job so far... Tony is running hard and is so difficult to get around...should be good... |
