Highest price EVER paid for ANY car through B-J was at this last show.$3.5 million for the 1950's Oldsmobile concept car that was to compete with T-bird's. Ironically, seller bought it for $500K a few years back and was going to sell it to a museum for $200K last year but, they refused it. B-J followers felt that anything near $500K would have been a big win. Talk about one seller going home with a grin that will never wash off.......

They say it was not put into production because it had a V8 and the Corvette only had a six. GM figured if they built the Olds it would have killed the Vette and they did not want to chance it.

It was actually Chevy convincing GM that producing the Olds would halt sales of Vettes, who were the bigger sellers at the time. The Olds was then ordered destroyed. Someone with a brain decided that wasn't going to happen (hear that iscream?). I recently posted a link on here to a video of the history of this car... pretty interesting... a search should find it. And if anyone can manage to save a copy of the full size wmv file, I'd like it.This message has been edited by idive on 02-16-2005 at 02:23 AM
