Robert and Susan Sallinger who owned a Prowler here in Scottsdale were broadsided by a Dodge Ram Pick up when they
pulled out onto Pima Rd.

Sadly Susan (54) was killed instantly and Robert was injured and treated for serious injuries. They were hit at the posted speed limit that was 55 mph.

I checked to see if they were registered on this site and I did not find them but thought someone might know them anyway.

I'm very sorry for these people as I'm sure they were out enjoying themselves.

How sad for them sorry the lady had to lose her life and hope and pray that the gentleman will make it ok, I also feel sorry for the poor guy that hit them as he will have to live with this the rest of his life, who know they may have not seen him coming and pulled out in front of the truck.

...what a shame.....one of those situations where it makes no difference who was at blame....everybody loses just the same....

...just last week in another thread I commented that being hit broadside was my greatest fear while driving a Prowler....not much protection there...

..hope the best for the husband and all involved...

A shame to hear of the loss ... and interesting to read the link in Ransom's post ... some fond memories (KidRock's reply ... priceless). Those photos sure look like what happens to an Indy Car when it encounters a wall ... I hope I never have to witness that first hand.

So sorry to hear about this.....I don't recall meeting these folks and they aren't on our mailing list but possibly someone in our group may have met them. What tragic news though.

My condolences to the entire family.

How sad. Article says a light is planned for that intersection.

My prayers will go out to them both. 54...so young. It's so sad that there isn't a bumper height standard imposed by the D.O.T. Although...being broadsided...would it have really mattered?

What a tragedy that it took a death to get a light installed.

Our heartfelt condolences to the families affected by this tragedy. It feels as though a family member has passed although I have never met them.

This has always been my biggest fear while out amongst the mostly larger vehicles in the world. We had a similar accident close to my home and all they did was to increase the size of the stop signs. We need more traffic circles!

Let me say now that when my time comes I want a Prowler funeral. (burnouts optional)

Wow such a tragedy, my prayers go out to the family for Susan and that Robert recovers, and for the poor driver of the truck. From the article looks like he didn't have a chance to avoid them.

GET THE LIGHTS IN
I was just driving in that very same area less than 2 weeks ago, man you need eyes in the front and back of your head in that area

I drove Cave Creek road when I was in AZ in Nov! It's even more dangerous when you don't know where your going. Ever drive in the islands. Bad traffic signs or none at all. It's tough around here now with snow! There are many white cars and all the utility trucks are white. Be careful folks.
