B-J auto auction from Scottsdale, Az. is on the SpeedChannel right now,,,for those interested.

On their website, you can make one Fantasy Bid per car going through the ring. How close to the actual selling price can you get within?

maybe he meant he actually gave birth to a roadrunner...

i find that easier to believe

did you hear them going on and on and on about personalized lisence plates while these great cars were up on the block going unmentioned ?

as bugs bunny says .. " what a maroon"

Couldn't believe the prices on some of the 50s cars. Makes me wish I would have held on to my 57' T-Bird & Vette a little longer. Of course anyone who has sold a classic car says the same thing.

Watched parts of it too.

AC -
The announcers kept drooling over that Hemi Cuda.
There were some fine automobiles on there. Some of the street rods have being going for some reasonable prices. In many cases I think the builder really took a bath on the sale vs. $ put in the car.

I'd love to go to this auction someting. I know I don't have the money to be in the bidding, but I'd love to see the cars/trucks up close.

I get the feeling from watching the broadcast though, that unless you are a big player/bidder that you can't get close to the stage for the actual auction.

How is it at the auction?

I just got on when they were driving off a silver 58 stude (I Think) it really looked wild, wished I would have seen it when they brought it out. Think it went for 60,000. Anyone else see it?

AC , I think that Cuda went all the way to $325,000. I have been watching, and drooling, all afternoon.

Tom - I was talking about a different car from the other night. Your right, one brought $325,000 today.

All time B-Jackson record selling price for a car today - 1954 Olds F-88 GM Concept Car, Corvette look with a Olds frontend and different rear end look,,, 1 of 1:

3 million dollars,,,,,,yes THREE MILLION $$$

The car is going to the Gateway Auto Museum in Colorado,,,wherever that is? The excitement in the WestWorld bidding hall went wild as this car reached 1 million $$$, and continued to build as the car went over 2M, and the house was rocking as it approached 3M $. Three people were bidding against each other, two in person, and one over the phone lines [reported to be a GM representative who was trying to buy the car back for GM to place in it's car museum].

In defense of Bob Varsha, Rick Debruhl, and Mike Joy as announcers,,,,,these three are racing announcers, doing F-1, Indy cars, and dirt tracks as their respected specialities. They don't claim to be car experts,,,just car enthusiast. I can't speak for the other guys they are using as announcers. Brock Yates,,,,jerk from what I've heard?

I can't stand the announcers either! How about just having someone read what is in the catalog and a camera just following the girl around. Still I couldn't take my eyes away from the Speed Channel. The auction is one of the things I have enjoyed watching more than most everything else on TV.

The girl,,,,,,,,,,,,is Amy Sparks Assiter. She knows how to grab the bidders by the b@#&^ and get the prices up on the vehicles,,,real pro. She is married to B-J's top auctioneer, Tom "Spanky" Assiter, and wears about a 7 karat rock on her finger. Worked her way to the top,,,didn't she

Jim - you are probably right. I wouldn't want her around me if I was bidding,,,,,,,,,unless she talked nasty to me, and then I'd forget what I was bidding on, lol.

I don't know why the guy paid $250000 for the Ford GT. I don't see its value going up in next few years! I missed the 3 Million Car! WoW!! I didn't think the Vette which was Tan was very nice either. They only made 66 of that model so I get it. Just thought the Color was Drab!
