That was a photoshoped pic. If you saw any of the footage on tv, you saw the real deal. It rose but, not a huge single wave like that. |

There was a first person article in our Sunday paper. It was a local guy who is now living in Geneva but was there on vacation. He said they were sitting facing away from the ocean when a bunch of people came running past so they ran to the hotel. After the first wave they went back to the beach and a second and then a third wave (which was the biggest) came. Apparently there was quite a bit of time between the waves. I was totally wrong about having enough time to flee. Of course he said the guy right behind them running up the steps got swept away and died. I do not know which country he was in at the time and I would imagine it was different in different locations. |

Fake! The actual wave was only 20-30' tall, which is not small by any means, but those buildings in the picture are 20-30 stories tall at over 12' per story in most office builings that wave scaled to the buildings would be 200-300 feet tall. It was a very tragic event, I hope the world organizations are able to help the ones still alive. |

I posted this photo about a week ago. It is created using photo-shop according to my resident computer-geek. |

How fortunate we are as others have it worse.. This was sent by a friend... This site has pictures and film clips of the massive devastation. May not be suitable for children esp. the first one. Go to: http://www.nodalpoint.net/tsunami/ |

Made me think of a lyric in a Sting song..... "less we forget how fragile we are" This really is one of the sadist things ever....the stories of the local people helping out total strangers after losing everything in seconds is truly inspirational. |
