I found a guy in Green Bay but that's about 450 miles one way, Detroit is about the same so don't check yet. I will keep you in mind if nothing else shakes out. He is a world renown rebuilder of old VW bugs, and has been featured in many VW magazines. I have seen four or five of the VW cars he has taken from total junk to making them look like they just came off the assembly line. The guy is awesome with his work.
