i just donated $800.00 that i was going to spend on my TGF rear spoiler to the tsunami victim, i feel that's the least i can do, my car will live another day without the spoiler, but some of these people will not, this thread is not intended for a political debate, just a note to urge others to do the same, have a safe new year everyone.

DooBoy, I agree and hope others will follow your lead. Our church is taking up a special donation this Sunday. The First Sunday of every month is our Church's day for fasting and prayer and we are asked to donate the cost of the missed meals to the poor. I remember when one of the leaders told us that the two meals missed should be the best meals of the month! So this week I am going to put the amount I usually pay for 1 year in the Humanitarian Fund for the first two missed meals of 2005. That will feel better than any steak I could buy and do more good.Happy New Year!

I to donated; Profits from the 87 Corvette sale to the Red Cross, make sure that it is going to the tsunami victims. Was pissed off when I gave to the 911 tragedy and the money was wasted on B.S. learned my lesson on that one. Two days later the hard tops are back on the market have to either turn another car or wait for income tax check. Well they need it worse than I do! Hope that there will be at least 10 of us ordering when my check comes. Happy New Year to all and lets go Prowlin.

I agree there is a need to aid the Victims. U.S. just approved $350 million Dollars. I think a few of my Tax dollars are in there. dooboy, blubyu, onecatnodog, your better men then I am. I would rather help people I know + make sure the $$$$ goes to where I want it. Being a American I would like see a fund set up for the wives and children of Soldiers killed in iraq and other places around the world. They are the ones who give us the lives we live. I would like to know how many countrys send U.S. Aid in times of tragedies------------------

I totally agree with Chuck, I bet the money they collect will not go to the right people. We should do our share but not the whole share.

I agree with you both. The reason I give it to the church is that they have an emergency relief program established and 100% goes to those in need thus bypassing the corruption.

my tax money is already going there..i noticed that the other countries are only sending a fraction . looks like its us again. give what your heart tells you to give. no one can be wrong. i guess were all right on the way we feel even if some of us dont agree. its better to do what you feel than beat this thing to death. its like repub and democrats. we arent going to see eye to eye. just do it instead of talking about it. i give to charity i dont tell people how much or when . i dont need a pat on the back that im doing the right or wrong thing god im starting again and my new years resolution was not to do this...sorry....

That's why the POA is so Great. Many good, caring people. We all give in many ways to many organizations. The amount of money being sent to the Tsumani victims is breaking all records for natural disasters. This message has been edited by CTProwler on 01-01-2005 at 05:56 PM

onecatnodog: i bet all those people that were slaming your corvette when you were trying to sell it didn't know it was going to such a good cause, hope that they're feeling pretty silly now, i'm sure some needy family over there is thanking god that there are still people like you on earth. This message has been edited by dooboy on 01-01-2005 at 11:22 PM

Dooboy: Family and I enjoyed a great Christmas and are very lucky to have all that we do. For all that vacationed at the sites hit, some being Americans are the ones I feel the most for. You save up money to go some place warm for the holidays start enjoying yourself and this happens. If your fortunate enough you get to come home with all your family members still in shock it will defiantly change your life. As far as the Corvette is concerned the funds weren't intended to go to the tsunami victims but did after sitting at the dinner table and seeing small children stacked up like wood I guess I have everything I want with my family beside me. America the land of opportunity, opportunity to speak for or against anything, anywhere, anytime, lets keep it that way. Love you all... onecatnodog

Chuck,I agree with you 100%,plus there are a lot of scams going on out there. This country has a lot of people who could use help.I took a friends mother in law to social security office to apply for food stamps and any other help she could get.Guess what she gets $580.00 per month and she has all normal expenses-rent-food-lights-water-etc and no phone. She was turned down because too much income. This just p------ me off,but we can give to other countrys.NOT ME
