Sounds like a good deal? Read closely....he won't send you the item, but he'll email you a picture of the item.

23 bidders bid on that item? What were they thinking?

My autographed pictures of myself should bring thousands of $$$
.
Picture of Ed and I together,,,,,,well, might bring $50

BT--I don't think it's E-Bay that stinks, it's some of the people that use it. So far,I've had good luck buying and selling. What a rip this ad is though! The fine print does say "picture". The winner should get the guy booted off for misleading bidders or at least a full $ return if he presses the case.

I agree with that. I have never had a bad experience on ebay but consider myself lucky and maybe an exception...or I didn't use ebay enough to experience the inevitable bad deal.

I think why ebay stinks is that they don't have enough people to monitor items for sale and don't really enforce buyer protection....they just offer a place to trade and you're basically on your own.

The fact that they let a grilled cheese sandwich sell for 28K says it all.

Wow...over the top!The buyer probably believes he's getting the real thing(x-box with games).
So far,my e-bay experience has been perfect but thanks for bringing things like this to light.....Read before you buy!

I have made over 100 transactions through e-bay and I have had two bad ones. I think that is a pretty good average. Its not the site that stinks, its some of the people that want to take advantage.

There are several million items on eBay at all times. I doubt if it is humanly possible to monitor everyone. Send in a complaint when you see something, it MIGHT help clean it up. Most people are honest but there are always a few, just like on POA.

As with everything else, ebay has good intentions but there's always some people around to ruin a good thing.

If ebay was perfect, they would physically inventory each item for a fee before it can be listed, then the condition and shipment would be verified and secure every time. Right Ed, monitoring millions of transactions is tough, so Ebay took the lazy way out and let us fend for ourselves...worse than a flea market, because you are only buying a digital image, hoping the actual item will arrive in reasonable shape...or at all.

Again, I've been lucky, but ebay is too easy to run a scam...

There is always the choice of not using eBay.
I have had a few bad dealings but I can get over it. Nothing works perfectly in this world. Enjoy what you can and try to ignore the rest.

My wife keeps telling me how stupid I am and looking back I guess I am lucky.I have not been burned yet.I have purchased last streetrod and mailed a check for $48,000.00 plus $950.00 to a trucking co.to transport. To think about it I guess I am stupid and very lucky to send that much money to someone I have never seen and a car I have never seen or driven.I alway think everone out there is as honest as you.The truth is I have found people that deal in these type cars are straight.I hope my day does not come to find out diffent.

I like E-bay, but like the majority of I've been ripped off a couple of times. Learned that you have to ask a million questions, no matter how basic you think they are. One guy wouldn't discuss the matter with me until I gave him a favorable feedback, then screwed me. Now, when he has something to sell I nail him with a million questions just to make sure he doesn't screw anybody else. I hope I'm driving him nuts! I swear a lawyer writes some of those ads. It's scary what some people will do for money.

I buy & sell all the time, have over 2500 feedbacks, only time I have had trouble was when I shipped to other countries like Korea & another that I can't remember right now, so I quit shipping out of the country except APO's which is service people

you can usually go by the sellers feedbacks, and if its to good to be true

Those buyers think they are getting the real thing instead of a picture
