John Michael Montgomery (country music artist) lives near me. He has a gold Prowler. I've not seen it but a lot of locals have. We shop (apparently) at the same golf store. The guys there told me a story about JMM holding an umbrella over the cockpit when he was there while it was raining. They told me the story after seeing my Prowler in the parking lot.

Reading this reminded me of a Dr. Pepper ad I see now and then featuring Lee Ann Rhimes and Reba McEntire. They're singing and drive into a dusty gas station. Anyone know what that silver sports car is they're driving?

I'll have to check on that. A lady I worked with for 11 years married a guy who roomed with Paul Rubens (PeeWee) in college. I'l have to see if I can track my ex coworker down and have her husband call him and get him to attend one of the POA events Larry Lord organizes! :

I think the Reba/Leeanne car is a Shelby creation.

Who is Raven Simone?

p.s. our Vice Mayor is a car buff. He owns a bunch of Applebee's restaurants and is said to have a cool car collection, including a Prowler.

News flash - in a case of trying to keep up with Alley Cat, it is reported that famous POA event banquet MC - Ed M. bought his second Prowler also - different colors of course!

I can't get that video to load...

Here is the series I from the Carroll Shelby web site. Is this the car?

...

Yep, here is text from Barrett Jackson site .

This Shelby Series I had every conceivable option installed at the Shelby factory in Las Vegas - including a supercharger, roll bar and brake upgrade. It was featured in a Dr. Pepper commercial starring Lee Anne Rhymes and Reba McEntire. 1700 miles. Perfect condition. Extremely fast. Dashboard and owners manual signed by Carroll Shelby.

Sorry about the double post!

Yup. That's what's in the commercial, but it had blue stripes.

And the blue stripes not only went to the front of the hood, they continued forward and wrapped around the bumper as well.

The token gay guy from one of the Survivor seasons was shown driving a gold Prowler on their reunion show at the end of the series. Can't remember his name or the Survivor location for that season...

The link isn't working now, but when I linked the picture, the site said "high bid: $50,000". I can't believe it sold for that, these cars are well into 6-figures. At that price, GRROWL may just be a goner.

GRROWL - that car had a Reserve and it is not listed as "sold" on the Barrett-Jackson web site. The high bid was $50,000. I checked under the Auction Results tab and quite a number of cars are listed as "Sold" but not this baby. I'm with you, I'd be tempted to part with ROADFLY if I could get this Shelby for $50K.
