I think Imagine is one of the top five best pop songs ever written. I recently bought the two new Lennon CDs, Acoustic and the rock and roll one. The acoustic one is better in my opinion. The thing I admired about John Lennon was the edge he brought to his music and to the Beatles. He was the perfect counterbalance to the "sweetness" of Paul McCartney. If Lennon were still alive I'm positive he'd be involved in some aspect of promoting peace over war. As for Yoko, all I can say is she must have been great in bed 'cause she wasn't much to look at and she sure as hell couldn't sing. My dog sang better than her!

Actually I did like the song "Cold Turkey." When I wanted to annoy someone, I would put on the "B" side which was some thing with Yoko screaming for 3+ minutes... Can you image being her child and having her get mad at you and start screaming!

Rich - Those stamps reminded me of some stamps I have. They are the first Russian stamps (maybe the only Russian stamps) sold outside of Russia. They are a tribute to Marx and Lennon. The stamps are of Groucho Marx and John Lennon. I think I might have the same set of stamps you show as well (and more). His death was truely a shock. I remember hearing of it. When the 20 minute candlelight vigil was held, I did my time. The man was a musical genius. What a waste. This message has been edited by idive on 12-09-2004 at 01:16 AM
