There is an old building here in Rochester that is getting a face lift. It houses a Hungry Howie's Pizza and a Delicatessen. When they removed the "old skin", look what was revealed beneath it!! I thought this was pretty interesting.

They should just clearcoat over the faded sign and leave it visible.

I agree with you Orange.........I think it would be cool to preserve it. I will watch and report back on whether or not they cover it up.........

I saw that the other day, On the back side of that building is a salon and when they went to do some work to the foundation they found some railroad ties. Turns out the building is built on some really old train tracks.

Well, drove past again today on the way to the Post Office and they have finally started to brick over the Studebaker sign. It's a shame they couldn't have preserved it somehow.

I think I would have been tempted to change the name to Studebaker Pizza and Deli and kept the sign. Too bad the Historical Society couldn't save it Jeff

Thanks for sharing CJ. I would love to see some more pictures with snow in them. The Chargers are in Cleveland to play the Browns so we get to see some on TV this weekend!

SirReal.........yes, it would have been nice to save it. Don't know why they didn't. The pizza place it houses is actually a regional chain, so they wouldn't have changed the name anyway.

I wonder how many years it will be before they replace the new brick and find the Studebaker sign again!

xpguy..........never mind the snow......I hope the Chargers know how to play in really cold weather. I don't know about Cleveland, but the high here on Sunday is supposed to be 13!!

I guess the owners lack the car gene. They could have come up with a whole new theme for that store, even if it is a chain.
