....these pix were scanned from a large picture(too large for my scanner) and I had to do it in two pieces.....I would like to have them rejoined into one picture...... ...the picture was shot in the early seventies at the local Dodge dealer....the driver was Roger McCluskey and the mechanic was my buddy, Bill Baker, his name is on the fender.....I would like to get this in one piece to make a few copies for Bills daughter for Christmas, she manages several of my businesses....Bill passed away several years ago at the age of 56....too many hard years racin' and hot roddin'.... ...Bill chopped Mercurys, built sleds and was the best damned engine builder/mechanic I ever ran into....the last work he did for me was building the engine in my '69 Daytona.....most awesome 440 I ever heard..... ...Bill also raced and one of my favorite pictures is of him on the inside of Darryl Waltrip, making a move hard into a corner..... ...I can email the full size shots to anyone that can do the job.....
Bill in his younger days................. This message has been edited by tangled up in BLUE on 11-30-2004 at 04:42 PM |

Tangled, I tried combining the 2 reduced pics, but it wouldn't work. You might have reduced the two pics to two different sizes. If you send me the originals, I'm sure I can make it work. |

Orange, Whealy.......thanx alot guys, you don't know how much this is appreciated....it will make several people most happy.....including me..... ....Bill was a very special friend to everyone who knew him......he worked 20 hours a day in a barn behind his house building cars, many times for free or very little money, because he loved cars and would do anything for his friends....we traveled many states together buying MOPARS, went to the MOPAR Nationals, cruised Brice Road in Superbirds, Daytonas, HEMI cars and assorted SIX PAKs.........he was always amazed to see me pay lotsa $$$ for musclecars like he had cut up and raced just a decade earlier.....he had a big red '50 Mercury with a chopped top and many other custom trix from the fifties.....it ran a 440 SIX PAK and sat so low he wore the bottom of the fenderskirts off on the interstate runs....all you had to do was follow the sparks and try to keep up with the big red Merc..... .....thanx again guys.... |

You can take your original to most any QUALITY custom photo lab (I've used 5P in the past for this) and they can take a picture of the picture and print it up real nice for you. That way, you also end up with a negative and can get more as needed from that. They can also touch up any tears or water/age spots in the pic to restore the photograph. Just another idea... |
