Looks like hybrid technology is becoming more seamless, thus, it looks like the trend will be for more vehicles to offer hybred options to increase gas mileage and increase power from traditional gas motors.

For example check out the new 2005 Honda Accord. 255hp V6 that gets 30 city and 37 hwy. And it looks like a regular Honda. Impressive… to increase both power +15 hp and increase mileage 9 mpg

When do you think we can get a 400 hp V8 Hemi that gets 26 mpg in the city and 34 on the hwy?

Better fuel mileage? Going to cost us more in state gasoline taxes soon, and I see where California is thinking of 'chipping' the cars and charge taxes by the miles you drive. Just can't win.

It’s like a continuos game of “cat and mouse”. Consumers change their buying patterns to reduce taxes, then the government changes the tax laws. I know some elected officials would just love to tax Internet purchases.

Gas prices will go up in the future a lot .USA+Can. have not a lot of Tax on Gas like in Europe. Our Gas price is more than double than in some US States. On my TOY´s like the Prowler and my Street Rods, I dont care about the gas milage. But for every day I have to ! My new ugly small Audi has a dieses engine (like lots of Europe cars) and goes average 70miles/to the Gallon. (..& still 120m/ph fast )
The furture will bring alternativ rides" that we have ( must) use for daily driving. ... or, you have enough money that you dont have to care about high gas price and super high taxes.
