Just read an article that stated many dealers are already discounting Pacificas....probably a nice car, but the price seems stiff to me($37 to $40K).....local dealer has a fleet of them, has yet to sell one and this is a Chrysler town.....

Our dealer seems to be in the same situation. He has eight on the lot and the only one that was sold is the one we bought. We are very happy with the vehicle though.

Have only seen them from a distance driving by a dealership on the freeway. What exactly is it? A low cushy stationwagon pretending it's an SUV or and SUV pretending it's a low cushy stationwagon? Seems to me since the SUV craze, manufacturers are all scrambling to try to create NEW classes of vehicles (ie. the XLT, SAV, S..V)

YF: I think it is a cross between an SUV and a station wagon. Ours is all wheel drive but it does come in front wheel drive. It seats six in two rows of Captain's chairs and a third split bench seat. They all fold down flat for carrying larger items. It comes with a v-6 and auto-stick. We only have a couple hundred miles on ours. We traded our 2000 Blazer on it and seems to be a much better vehicle than the Blazer interms of extra room and better ride characteristics.....but it would be better with a v-8!------------------

Hey Dave,It may be a great car. It just appears to be another one of the Gen-X crossover, doesn't fit in any category vehicles (from a distance anyway). Like the $45K jacked up Volvo twin turbo stationwagon thingy. Is anyone seriously going to drive that off-road? Speaking of which, what exactly is that new Honda eco-box that they ran out of paint half way through the paint process?

Chrysler blew it on the Pacifica - YUK! After the Prowler, Viper, PT etc. they try to be like everyone else and this is the result.

I have been in and out of the Pacifica at our local dealership, and have and am considering trading the Prowler on it. It is very nice inside. But the price also seems steep to me and it could use more power. I may see what the prices do throughout the summer and make a decision in the fall.As some of you know, I have 2 month old twins, and this would make a lot more sense than what I have now. And I see the Pacifica as a great base for some serious customizing yet still having the hauling capacity I'm going to need. t

Looked at one today; our dealership has two. The interior is quite striking and definitely high end. I see some MB in the styling and buttons. Outside looks too much like a wagon to me but I think there is a market for it that just may need time to find it. JMHO Gordon
