But I might be selling the Prowler soon. I wish I had the money to keep the Prowler and get my possible new car. But the Prowler will have to go so I can save up for this...

I should be going and putting a deposit down soon to get my name on the waiting list. They are spos to be out in April of 04. Wish I could have both.

Why? It's not a Prowler...

I predict regret if you sell your Kat.....That would be like removing one of my kidneys at this point....

Wood,

That would be tough to pass on. And I admitt I didn't know what it was either. Best of luck on whatever path you take.

Lotus Elise and if I'm not mistaken, it has a mid-engine hi-reving 4 banger (unless they changed engines).

I also thought it wasn't street drivable and only used for CC events. The one pictured looks more streetable though.

I think Hollywood will regret his decision too but it is his choice.

What's this thing start at anyway?

I agree, but wish him well.

Isn't that the Lotus Yugo model??? If it ever breaks down,,,,YU--GO--walk for the parts!

Good luck

The older version (2-3 years back) was mid to upper 50's. I'd bet this is $60K or somewhere near it since the outgoing Esprit is $90K

yup its a Lotus Elise. It is streetable soon. others you might see right now are usally not. it has to do with airbags, the headlights and some other stuff. but this one is being federalized for the USA.

As for the engine they are not telling us what is in it right now. It either a Toyota or Honda. (we think) Curb wight is said to be under 1700lbs. and 0-60 in under just over 4 seconds.

MSRP is 38,500

My girlfriend has been checking this car out as well. We may go to the Lotus dealer tomorrow and see what info they have on it. I'd definitely be willing to get rid of my Prowler to get that.

It's tiny. About half the size of the Esprit. The picture makes it look alot bigger then it is.

It was designed and made for CC work. Now they are trying to federalize it and add air and call it a daily driver.

I'd besurprised if it is sold for under $40K since the current CC version is about $15K higher.

While nice looking, one thing to remember, Lotus' for some reason really drop in value and quick. It's not uncommon to find new $90K Esprits with virtually no miles on them for half their cost new.

Well, if it breaks, I'd MUCH rather drop it off at the Jaguar/Lotus dealer than at a Chrysler dealer that won't even give me a rental car. I love my Prowler, but Chrysler has to have some of the worst customer service out of any company I have ever dealt with.

Just becaues it's a Lotus doesn't mean it comes with a rental car. And if it does, don't you think that is already padded into the sales price?

Wood,

You really shouldn't have posted the color chart. That one that looks like a bengal might give Ed some BAD ideas.

Whealy, I cannot relate to the BENGALS. There was a Bengal edition of the Dodge Charger in 1967 or 68 that was pretty neat. Not too many of those left probably.

I wish you guys wouldn't pick on Ed about the Bengals.
You know they are #1 in the league in one category - draft pick!

Good choice,I had my eye on the Lotus for a while, but decided to go with a Viper instead.By the time you get the car(which may take a while),you'll probably decide to keep the Prowler anyway.Good luck!
