O.K., Prowlers aside (cause they are a classic now) what production car created within the last 5 years (or currently being built) do you think will be a classic 30 years from now?The key to remember is "production". You can't pick a car like the Ferrari Enzo because it isn't a true production car and since so few are being made (I think only 600 worldwide) it's obvious it would be there currently. My guess is the old body Viper and current Jaguar convertible

Agree on Vipers.Sometimes the TOTAL DUD cars are worth more down the road because of limited production (Edsel). That could be good for current Thunderbird, Lincoln Blackwood pickup, V8 Pontiac Fiero to name a few. And don't forget any surviving Ford Explorer with original Firestone tires

I think you may have something here. The Blackwood was only made for 1 year (5200 units?) so it may be a true collectible 30 years from now. The Fiero????????LOL!!!

First generation Pontiac Aztek... It's rare for a manufacturer to restyle after one model year, so the early ones will be in demand (especially with the tent thingy). ------------------ Future: Must... Buy... Prowler... Current: 1996 Corvette LT4 Previous: 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT, 1984 Porsche 944

1) Ford Thunderbird 2) Mercury Marauder. They only sold 2,900 and will kill it. The rarity alone will make it a collectible along the lines of the Impala SS.This message has been edited by Black Tie 161 on 04-29-2003 at 12:27 PM

I believe that any model that keeps reappearing in its new version will drive up the price of the previous design. For example-when Beetle introduced the new Beetle, the old one shot up in value, same with the Mini.As far as whether they are going to be collectibles, who knows!

Possibly the new Chevy SS pickup. I don't see that lasting very long in its current styling anyway.t
