Got a letter the other day from Hot August Nights people in Reno. After weighing the liability, and risk of serious injury they will not have the drags this year. I'm bummed they were fun. www.hotaugustnights.net |

John - so now you, Dan, Marc and others need to make plans to come Louisiana in the Fall for the racing at No Problem Raceway! Hopefully you have enough time to make aranegments. You all can find out how mcuh better times you get at lower altitudes. Of course, you may get beat, too. ------------------ |

Gary - Bring that hi-boy down here when we both get our kats back and lets see where what kind of times we can put up at the track. If I can keep the tires gripping off the line I am hoping to get in the 7's in 1/8 th mile. I am getting tires of posting about it, talking about it, raeding about it; I'm ready to have some fun! |

One of the guys that I see at work (Sun) claims that he takes his Corvette to the 1/8 mi street drags in Winnemucca(sp?) that same week. Will dig deeper, if you ask. ~bg |

Marty, Gary has more miles in print on here then he does actual miles on his car. How long has it been now? BTW ,,, 1/8 mile races are pretty fun,, need to be ready to rock and roll. ------------------ This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 04-25-2003 at 12:36 AM |

John - at least I know the fuel pump pumps enough for 1/8 mile. Against other car models - Mustangs, Vettes, Vipers, Camaros, etc. our kats certainly get off the line better and an 1/8 mile is to our advantage. My experience has been by the 1/8 mark I am ahead but their Cubic Inches and extra HP is gaining and making up for poor launches on their part due to either poor driving skills or not enough traction for them to get power to the track. I seriously hope some of your Western guys consider making the trip to Louisiana. Drag Racing/8000 hotrods at Cruising the Coast/side trip to New Orleans - not a bad way to spend a vacation! |

quote: I totally understand. As much as I would like to drive out to California (and will some time) it would really require a lot of planning. That is why I mentioned this now, with a lot of time between now and then, hoping some of you all will at least think about it. If not maybe if the 2004 National Event gets planned for Texas as has been mentioned, they can incorporate a day at the drag strip and we can all meet there. Of course, by then who knows what engine any of us will have in our cars!

I tried to smoke a Mustang last Sunday but the damned thing wouldn't fit in my New Braunfelds BBQ thingy and the burning hooves and hair were smelly beyond belief. ~bg |
