Today we had Easter Lunch with the Karns brothers their wives and mother. We always enjoy their company and have a wonderful time. But today was really special. The Karn's brothers own some 1970 Plymouth Superbirds. Today we not only got our first ride in one of these rare cars, but I got to drive one. What a blast. I am still grinin from ear to ear. Thanks Scott and Gordon for this rare privleage and honor. What an awesome car. They call this one the baby bird. It has a 440 with single four bareel rated at 375 HP. Its the baby because its the slower of the three. I can't imagine how fast the others must be.

Rich - Sounds like a great time. You have been around Gordon and Scott enough for them to know you have respect for their vehicles. Driving 60's and 70's muscle cars is always a blast!

When I was in high school I bought my first car, a 64 Malibu. It did not have power steering, but did have a big steering wheel. Being the cool dude I thought I was, I replaced the steering wheel with a three spoke wood rim steering wheel about 10 or 11" in diameter. It sure made it tough to park the car, but it looked better!

I worked with a guy that had a black Superbird back in mid to late `70's. It had a knock in it and I had it at the house to try and find the source of the noise. It ended up being a wrist pin. Guess it would be alot cooler to drive one now than it was then. This was a driver, 440 4 barrel, was alpine white, but painted black by previous owner, had a place in the left sail panel where it had been hit by a bullitt. I had some cool cars at the time so didn't think it was that big a deal to drive. It was just a car, just like my `71 `Cuda convertible, It would be great to drive either one now ------------------ Larry & Sue Mayes
