Without a doubt Maple Leafs are it this year(haven't won since 1967).
After watching a few games in the first round of the playoffs,I'm convinced(well almost...)
Are there lots of hockey fans among the Prowler bunch?

Roman....what games are you watching? The Leafs have been totally outplayed in every game this series and only by a few lucky bounces are they even alive. Yesterday's example...outshot something like 37-12 in regulation and get a lucky bounce to score the tying goal to push game into overtime (which they then lost). They were also badly outplayed the game prior and fluked out an overtime win. I am actually surprised at how badly the Leafs are playing as I expected them to go a little further in the playoffs but after seeing this series, I think they will be joining us on the golf course in about a weeks time.

I became a fan - yes, in the south - due to my son playing roller hockey.

We go to a few Hurricanes games each season and to the local minor league games here. I had a blast at the playoffs and Cup semis/finals last year. The Canes went from first to last this year. For Christmas my wife gave me an authenic Canes jersey with my name and old football number on it.

I was amazed in the semis last year at the Leaf fans who would drive all the way to NC without a ticket in hopes of picking up a scalped one.

I was amazed last

I'll go with Geo. Carter and say the Mighty Ducks also.

Hope they don't need too many George Carter time-outs to pee!

GREAT DEFENSE

I believe I said to CJ a year ago when they lost Scottie that things were not going to be the same. With the age of the Wings...you are going to see some new faces in Detroit.
Sorry Wings fans you're all done.

Alex, in the big scheme of things.........with the war and all the more important events going on in the world today.... a hockey game is pretty low priority.........win or lose..........life does go on for the team and fans.

CJ, I'm not buying your response for one min. A hockey game for Detroit "Low Priority". I bet if you ask anyone in the Wings organization if, in your words, it was a "Low Priority" they would differ with you. And it wasn't "A" hockey game, it was 4 hockey games and 4 loses. Your responce wreeks of "Sore Loser". Just calling a spade a spade.

Alex:

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't know the CJ has a son in the military in Iraq right now, so hockey I'M SURE is not on the top of her list.

I'm a sports freak, but if my son was in the military in harms way during wartime I KNOW, just like CJ, where my thoughts would be.

Alex..........since your first post was directed to me, I was responding with regard to MY feelings about the Red Wings...I don't speak for the City of Detroit. I have a son somewhere in Iraq (we don't know where) who I haven't heard from in over a month. I don't know if he's okay or not. So, YES, the Red Wings are not on my priority list, I'm not much of a hockey fan...... my sons were. I have far more important things to worry about. It's just a game....... but what my son is doing is NOT a game. I'm sure he'd much rather be here watching the Wings play hockey whether they won or lost. Just because your life is hockey, doesn't mean it's everyone else's.......my son is busy defending our country so you can have the freedom to play your stupid hockey.... and I don't give a CRAP whether you believe my response or not. I don't appreciate your comments.......

Just calling a spade a spade.

Well.......that's typical........you can pick on me and say what you want, but I can't. You think I'm weak.. well, that's your opinion. My post was no more out of line than yours. If you want to leave POA, that's your decision, but don't blame it on me.

It's GREAT!

Gotta get rid of Toronto & Minnesota tonight.

They both held on very well last night, but Dallas never does well against their ex-goalies. Though I don't know if I want them to face Philly either. He was unreal last night.

well I see things haven't changed to much here.... CJ being attacked once again by a brave sole on the computer, man don't you all just luv the power these little machines can give a person. LOL

Bob & CJ and all you that have family and friends over there fighting I hope they all come home safe and sound.

Now Lets talk "HOCKEY" how about the CANUCK'S looks like they are back to playing that style of hockey that got them into the play off's. Tonite if they win at home they should win this series and then go into the last round. So all you other Canuck's get on the band wagon with them and help cheer them on.

That was quite a game. Can you imagine the emotional let down of playing the equivalent of 2 and 2/3 games and then losing. That would be a tough one to lose.

Bagdad Bob looks good in Red, don't you think?
