Here's a link to video clips of out local Thunder Over Louisville fireworks and air show. It is the largest fireworks display in the country and one of the top five military air shows. Maybe we should plan a Prowler event around it in the future. Homevidoe clips are from last year - 55,334 fireworks shells. I suggest looking at #1 and the finale on #10 for a since of the scope of the fireworks. Last night there were 750,000 people lining the riverbank to watch! It is 10 times more awesome in person! What a great show! Loved the ones that burst into a star shape. It would be worth the trip up next year to see this. Maybe we could schedule a Prowler get together for that weekend? Great video ! ------------------ |

As far as a POA event goes, the only iffy thing is the weather. They have had snow flurries and still had the event, but would not be great for a lot of cruising. The air show starts in the afternoon - 3PM and fireworks at 9:30. Fireworks are exactly 27 minutes, leaving 3 minutes for commentary on a half hour TV time slot. This year the military air show was only about 1/3 of the annaul norm due to Iraq but still had an F 15, F 16, B1B Bomber, C 130, etc. No Blue Angels this year ! ------------------ |
