While taking a nice long drive through the mountains of Southern California. What do I discover in Julian? A convoy of DC Crossfires !!!! Way cool... All with Mich. plates The Crossfire convoy stopped for a pit stop in Julian and while the drivers where inside a couple guys kept watch, not sure what for, but they where definitely guarding the vehicles. I talk briefly with one drive and I commented on what a nice day it was for a drive and how I like his wheels and I looked forward to seeing them being available soon in the showrooms. The drive agreed and comment “wait tell you see the convertible”! It’s planned to replace the Prowler in the DC lineup. As I drove off the DC group of guys and I exchanged waves. Here are a couple photos. - Kcat |

Is it me, or does the Crossfire look like a result of a three-way bewteen a Thunderbird, Audi TT and Mercedes SL? In these pics, there's the yellow piece of artwork, and then there is the other vehicle that is going to blend in with all the other cars on the road. It looks nice, but seems like it is missing something. ------------------ |

Koastal Cat, Thanks for the photos, the Crossfire looks great! I guess my single gripe on the appearance would be the out of scale oversized bright windshield trim..it really doesn't fit the car? The first profile pic kind of reminds me of my old 1968 Triumph GT6 sports car I had in High School. GPS John, you've got enough Black cars . KC.., What other colors will be available? Thanks again for the pics, This message has been edited by Chromer on 02-17-2003 at 06:50 PM |

Not so sure about that heavy chrome windshield frame. Poor copy of a TBird. JRL |

It may be a nice car but I prefer convertibles and the drop top version of the Crossfire will take away it's most distinctive feature - the fastback roofline! |

This is truely another well thought out design by DCX...can't hardly wait till they get to the showrooms! |

I like it,,,,,,convert may even be better. Might be somewhat underpowered for me, but then again, Lethia will need another driver someday |

Looks like a cheaper version of a mercedes to me... o wait, that is who owns DC now! Now I "get it"... but it will never replace the Prowler... regardless how many they sell. |

The DC convoy was fairly large. I counted 7-8 Crossfires, some with different colors, but none Yellow… Hummm. I did see a few Pacificas too. Interesting note: At least 2 new Nissan 350Z appeared to be traveling with the convoy. Not sure of the connection. - Kcat |

I still think the best looking vehicle in that photo was the Yellow Prowler! ------------------ |

I agree! The crossfire looks good, but the prowler outshines it. |

I like the car next to it especially since I just bought one, Infiniti G35. I read something like 40% of the crossfire is Mercedes parts. |
