Saw it for the first time yesterday. Cracked me up, RPL is there anyway we could get copies of the Hemia Ram Commercials. Did anyone see the one of the Ram butting the Pee On boy of the back window before he could do it. Tooo Funny as well.

Too bad you're not closer. CJ has a spoof of the first HEMI commercial. The second one with the dragster that you mention is titled "Revenge"

I've seen it several times and like it...

However, last night my wife (Karen) is watching it and laughing she looks at me and says that is just like you...

Now, I didn't ask which one of the two guys she meant but, the way she was laughing, it couldn't have been the guy in the Hemi truck....

Enough said...

So Laddie - have you had to install a parachute now to slow you down?

On the way to my office this morning a new black Ram pulled up next to me (I was in my Tahoe, wish I was in the Kat!) and I motioned for the guy to roll down his window. Happens that I knew him and I hollered "That dar thang got a Hemi?". He fell over in his seat laughing and so did the the landsscaping crew in the truck behind him!

Got'ta have fun!

Well, I finally saw this commercial the other night, and as an NHRA member and drag racing fan and supporter, I had a very different initial "take" on it.

For decades while Chrysler focussed on LeBarons with woodgrain vinyl side trim, drag racers kept the "Hemi" name alive and in the news. I have no problem with Chrysler now trying to capitalize on the performance reputation of their engine design, now that they are getting back into performance vehicles.

However, to do this by means of a commercial that portrays drag racers as drooling, single-digit IQ Southern white trash, seems to be a case of biting the hand that feeds, so to speak. If NASCAR ran Hemi's, I seriously doubt that Chrysler would air a commercial that portrayed NASCAR drivers as moonshine swilling, illiterate slobs.

I like to think that I have a pretty good sense of humour, and don't take things too seriously, but I found the commercial offensive, and I wonder what Wally Parks must think of this "payback" to a sport that that has glorified the Hemi name more than any other.

I thought it was a cheap shot, although probably unintentional. But someone at Chrysler should have put their thinking cap on before they signed off on this one...

Just my opinion...

Dead End, I don't think you should take is so personally. JOMO. I thought it was funny and did not take it as a slam at anyone.

Sorry you were offended by the commercial, but I didn't see it as a slam on drag racers, but again I'm not one. I'm not a Native American so I'm not offended by teams having mascots such as the Redskins, Braves, etc. either, even though many are obviously offended by the names.

I am a "drooling, single-digit IQ Southern White trash" kind of guy and I didn't take offense. In my opinion, we rednecks are funny creatures!

Randy - I can identify with that. Somewhere in my memory this reminds me of something one of of my ex wives might have called me.
