I missed it today,,,,what did he say???EDIT: OK, got the reply on Fox Cable. Whoooaa, bet chairs are being thrown around at NBC headquarters. We are running out of options to watch,,,,ABC is changing it's name to Al-Jazeera West with Peter Abdul Jennings on the throttle, CNN has gone to showing more anti-war/anti-american crap, and now NBC/MSNBC? Guess its Fox Cable News = fair and balanced! If I was Sadam, I would be living in the basement of the hotel that all the news media is staying at. Da,,,whatelse could be safer than that? I have sent e-mails to Peter Arnett's employers, NBC and National Geographic advising them I intend to boycott their station, program and advertisers until they fire the bum. What he did was to encourage the enemy to continue there efforts because the American war plan has failed. This can do nothing but increase the risk our troops face. I encourage you and to encourge all you know to send e-mails to the addresses below and get this guy fired. newsdesk@nationalgeographic.comnbcshows@nbc.com

I don't think Saddam's is stupid! A reporter telling a government official that he is in the same building where reporters are staying would be his death wish. We have fighters up every minute waiting for targets. We would kill Saddam and all the reporters is a second, no hesitation. I think He is staying with the general public in the city or hospitals etc. One of our spys will kill him or a plant we have inside is circle of army officers..------------------

Just saw the video of Peter Arnett's comments that was supposedly recorded in the Iqari Ministry Of Information (I think this is what it's called) studios. This is the Iqari propoganda network. He basically said the Coalition Forces had run into far more resistance than they thought they would and that they now realize that the first phase of their war plan had failed and that they (Coalition) are basically in a holding pattern while their war plans are being revised. He also said that the resistance of the Iqari forces is giving fuel to the anti-war protesters in the US. No more MSNBC for me!------------------

CJ and Rich - what he said in short was: WE lost the first go round of this war,,,,,,WE are on hold waiting for new battle plan. He has got to be smoking some good stuff over there or he is sleeping 12 hours per day without looking outside the windows to see what is being bombed at will. Sorry Peter, the only war you are going to ever cover again is a game between the Jets and the Giants.

Well, it appears that Mr. Arnett no longer has a job. He was fired by all the entities that he worked for and is leaving Iraq. The Today Show this morning spoke with him briefly during which he apologized for his actions.......

Entertainment - AP NBC Severs Ties With Journalist Arnett 51 minutes ago By DAVID BAUDER, Associated Press Writer NEW YORK - NBC fired journalist Peter Arnett on Monday, saying it was wrong for him to give an interview with state-run Iraqi TV saying that the American-led coalition's first war plan had failed because of Iraq (news - web sites)'s resistance. Arnett himself called the interview a "misjudgment." AP Photo

Arnett, on NBC's "Today" show on Monday, said he was sorry for his statement but added, "I said over the weekend what we all know about the war." "I want to apologize to the American people for clearly making a misjudgment," Arnett said.
NBC had defended him on Sunday, saying he had given the interview as a professional courtesy and that his remarks were analytical in nature. But by Monday morning the network switched course and, after Arnett spoke with NBC News President Neal Shapiro, said it would no longer work with Arnett

i tried to call MSNBC this morning and the lines were tied up (other people calling to comlain ,i hope!!). This BUM has made other remarks over the years that make me wonder if he has lost his mind completely. What he did in my opion is give "aid and comfort" to our enemy and he should be totally barred from TV forever!!!. In the time of war we should be supporting ou troops and our President and he went totally over the line!!

Glad they fired him... But they should send him on one job before he leaves... Strap him to a BunkerBuster, aim it at Baghdad & literally fire him... Oh, by the way... The Coalition forces are changing the battle plans... SHOOT ANY DAMN THING THAT MOVES... WildBill

Maybe since he is such good friends with Saddam, he can move in with him. Then we can kill two birds with one big stone! Hats off to NBC for having the balls to do what is right, but I'm still watching FOX. ------------------ 2001 Mulholland Edition Prowler 2001 King Ranch Edition Ford F-150

Gee... doesn't anyone remember when Bush said he'd have anyone fired who mentioned his daughter's in the press? I know this is "time of war" and support our president and all... but it's really obvious to me the man has the support of high ranking republicans, and they are the ones who control the media. Two and two still makes four, just add it up.

...controlling the media???The media is totally OUT OF CONTROL and second guessing every move that is made. If they actually had the brains to do any better, they wouldn't be in the media - lets be honest - they are only reporters. These clowns always blow everything out of proportion (and over-dramatize) to stir the pot. They get way more information that they should have and way more than any other country in the world would ever give them. Would you want the media to know your every single move and question everything you do. We would all be better off with a report at the end of the war on what happened.
