Will the trailers go up in value after the NEW supply dries up? Or will they go the way the Prowler value has gone, down drastically? Or will they be pretty stable?

I would think they would at least stay stable. When production ended on Prowler, there was still about 1,000 cars left to sell. Once the last trailer is sold, that's it. No more new to be found........ever.

.....the slowing economy has hammered many used car prices as the supply of new cars continues to be strong. Collector or non-daily drivers are likely to get hit worse. My guess is that the Prowler prices are near bottom, trailer could show a little weakness, but as CJ stated, new supply will be zero. I always have thought the Prowler was relatively cheap for what you got, but the trailer seemed to be priced fairly high for what you got (that said, I still bought two).

Things could have been worse, you could have put the money in the market and lost more and not been able to enjoy the miles of smiles.

By the way Ed, did you ever get a trailer?

Wayne, no I didn't. I could not justify spending $ 4 or $ 5 K on a trailer that I would only use a few days a year. It seemed to be extravagent. I still haven't figured out how I justified the hardtop. Go figure.
I had that rack made and painted and then bought a chromed PT rack, which I haven't used.

Ed, do you really think any of the rest of use have a real use for the trailer and could justify the cost. We just hook it up and drive it around the block empty for thrills.

They're good for hauling people in parades (if you remove the lid),and they're cute!

Ed - I don't have the room for a trailer and it's a hard item for me to justify too, but come to think about it the Prowler purchase is an emotional buy (at least for me) that is hard to justify and I did it anyway and am damn glad I did!

The first time I went somewhere with the Prowler and wanted to buy something convinced me to buy the trailer.

We use our trailer allot. Since we purchased it, we have put almost the same mileage on it as the Kat. We attend allot of car shows and cruise ins. We haul a 10' x 10' canopy for shade, six chairs (extras for friends), cleaning supplies, tools, our Prowler Panther mascot and sometimes a large cooler. It has been to Woodward twice, Louieville, Cruising the Coast and Prowlin the Rockies. Next month it goes to Mopars at the Battleship in Mobile. For us it has been worth every dime. When I do show up without I get asked allot why I didnt bring it. Many think it is as cool as the Prowler.

Prowler trailer is nice. But I want the utility of a trailer without investing that much. I'm buying a motorcycle trailer in silver. Hell of a lot less expensive and doing the same job. Go figure....

Bill I agree with you, I have been looking for the right trailer to have painted Silver for just the same reasons you stated. If you convert the dollar to CDN it cost us $10,000 and to me that is way to much for a trailer.

So if you find one that works please post so the rest of us may look at it as well.

thanks

Hi Ed,

I'm still alive - buy a trailer. It will make the car worth more money someday. Promise. Have not been on the site lately. Just too busy and , have to admit it, I get addicted so I stay off. Miss it though. Hope all is well with you and Sandy..... see you soon.

there is nothing wrong with hooking your trailer up empty and going for a nice little trek around the block or a nice scenic cruise. i beleive that the trailer prowler together will only stay or increase in collectability which of course would only make the price go up also.

i will gladly sell all the trailers that you would like..

just rambling here.

if you have a prowler that stays locked up for mileage reasons it would only bebefit the owner to get a trailer before they are not available for any reason....

thanks poa members..

Ed - 12,000 miles on our trailer last year. I can't imagine traveling for more than an overnight trip without it. As Rich stated, they are a real hit at the car shows, too.
