I am in the coin collecting supplies business. I have most all the books that have the value of coins, and could look it up for you. If you have an error or miss-strike these would not be valued so I could ask top experts what it is worth for you. I deal with some of the top numismatists everyday so could get you a value or even tell you where to sell it if you want to. Post a picture or email it to me (a picture, not the coin). |

First, get or buy a book or two and look them up. You owe it to yourselves to see what they are worth versus asking anyone else. And, like with surgery, get a second opinion or two. You do not need to sell to the first person that gives you a price. |

R Rodenfels, I will email you some names of dealers that are very honest. First do what YF said. Estimate what it is worth. Show it to some dealers locally. Some may not want the coins you have, therefore may give you much less than they are worth. I only know dealers in the San Francisco Bay Area so I can give you their names. I don't know if you can get the coins to them. They may be in OH sometime or you in the SF,CA Area. |

Wow, I didn't expect this big of a response. What I came across as I found out is a blank quarter. It never got stamped. From what I found out is since it doesnt have a date on it, its not really worth much if anything. It was my first time coming across one of theses. What sparked my interest is I watched a show on the History Channel about double stamped coins could be worth up to a Million dollors.. So naturally finding this unstamped quarter got my attention. Thanks for such a hige response! |

Jmcant1, well I think you have a fortune if you have a "Buffalo/Indian head silver dollar". I have never heard of that. There is a Buffalo Nickel and an Indian Cent. There is no silver dollar of this type. Even if YF thinks he is an expert on everything. Sorry YF I had to do it. I see anytime anyone (LL for the latest) posts something you have to argue with it so . . . . I couldn't resist. |

Morgan dollars might also be construed as looking similar to indian headress. |

Do you just like to argue for agument's sake, YF? All of the first three are GOLD COINS. The Sacagawea Dollar is not silver. The Morgan Dollar IS silver, but it is a representation of Liberty it says so on her crown. It is not an Indian. There have been lots of coins with Indians and/or Buffalos on them, but not silver dollars. "1854-56 One Dollar Indian Head Type 2 (GOLD) 1854-1889 Indian Head Liberty Three Dollar Pieces (GOLD) ($3.00) 1907-1933 Indian Head $10 Regular Strikes (GOLD) ($10) Not to mention that on December 1, 1997 President Clinton signed legislation calling for a new $1 coin, which was the Sacagawea Dollar that was placed into circulation on 1/28/2000 (NOT SILVER) Morgan dollars might also be construed as looking similar to indian headress." (SILVER, BUT NOT AN INDIAN) "Buffalo/Indian head silver dollar" I said there was no such coin. Keep arguing YF, you are just going to look smarter. |

Just stating some more facts: The mint did in 2001 produce a limited edition "American Buffalo" Coin and Currency set. Mintage 500,000. I also believe that they produced a 2 coin set. The Coin and Currency set included one $1 Silver Buffalo Dollar (an exact reproduction of the 1913-1938 Buffalo Nickel, except made of one troy ounce of silver) as well as a reproduction 1899 $5 Silver certificate. Here are some pictures. I put an Indian Head Penny and a Buffalo Nickel next to the coin so that you can get a sense of size. As far as value, good place to check is eBay. If anyone has any other questions about coins, feel free to email me. I may be able to help!

Thanks Matthew. That's what I have, the DOLLAR coin. I have a uncirculated and a proof, both in hard plastic case. Paid well over a dollar for both... Mike |
