Its a shame, but I've noticed that in many cases, people who have the kind of money it takes to buy a toy like this have too big an ego to learn how to handle it properly. Of course, when you've got that much money, it probably doesn't matter... |

Or he dumped all the money he had on this dream car and now he is in real deep trouble because he no longer can afford another one. UGLY, UGLY AND UGLY ------------------ |

I think it's funny that someone further down the thread, who has track times in his sig, posted that he guesses they should have let one of them drive it.... Like driving an F series truck in a straight line qualifies him to drive a Lambo on a road course... t ------------------ 1999 Black w/NeoBlue Streetglow Gold Series |

Such a shame to see a car like that end up that way. What I don't understand is how so many people assume they know the person can afford another one or lacked driving skill or experience. Unless you actually know the person well, how can you judge their financial situation? As far as the cause of the accident, maybe someone else was involved, maybe a tire went down, maybe something else broke, or maybe he just lost it. Even professional race drivers have wrecks on the track. In any case, at least the car was the best color - BLACK! |

Agreed, and you can tell by looking at the track pictures that many many people have lost control in that same exact spot. |

Like Marty, who knows what really happened. It looks like they may get airborne topping the hill and then going into the curve. If you don't have a lot of experience that is an accident waiting to happen!! Ed - Maybe 90 will be fast enough at KY Speedway :-). |

This isn't about money or skill. Driving vehicles is fun. Driving fast vehicles is a lot of fun. Drag racing, road racing, auto cross, off-road or what ever racing, it doesn't matter. Skill is involved as well as preparation. The skid marks tell it all, this was a challenging section of the "race" course. Help was near by and the wall was placed to impart minimal damage while providing protection. Any accident that you walk away from is a good one. The vehicle did what it was intended to do, protect the driver. Take a hint. If you ever have the chance or opportunity to take a professional driving course, jump at the chance! The skills and techniques learned can save a life and add to the enjoyment. Here's one for a club activity, organize a group trip to a professional driving school. Then when presented with the opportunity to be out on the track you'll be more confident and understand your limits. I'd love to be able to send CJ to school. I've attended several and learn every time. I learned that I'm not a professional and can run very well at 8/10's. I talked to the lead instructor at Skip Barber about CJ. I just need that chance. I wish that I had the money to send both of our children as well. |

When I had a new 911 in 89 they offered a driving class at Riverside weeks before it final demise, had a blast, learned a lot, I thought I knew it all, was the fastest in the timed slalom, wasn't the fastest until I slowed down after I got a tip the Teacher. Later we ran of the REAL course and spun out at 110 in turn 8, thank God for tons of run off. When I was doing laps I had predetermined which turns I could go for it, turn 9 was scary as where others. Also, I guess when you buy a New Hummer they give you the choice if you like to take on off road course in their H1 and H2, going to do it as long as it's their toys... Glad they walked away, phew........ |
