A/C, we left Cincy in a bit of a snow storm, but not horrible. After we got thru Indy it was clean, dry streets all the way to Chicago. Made the trip in about 5 hours. We flew to Dublin and had an hour layover before going on to Shannon. They said we had to get off the plane due to mechanical problems or equipment problems. It turns out a different plane got snowed-in in NY and they wanted to use our plane. We sat about 2 1/2 hours and boarded the same plane, which then went on to NY after they dropped us off at Shannon. That was the only hitch in the entire trip. We had about 4 or 5 sunny days and about the same amount of cloudy and some rainy days. Saw all of the the usual tourists things, which I had already seen. Cliffs of Moher, Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Waterford Crystal, Queenstown Story, Beara Peninsula, The Burren and did not get to the Aran Islands, due to shaky weather the last couple of days. Toured Bunratty Castle and ate at Durty Nelly's which has been there 5oo years. (The food seemed fresher than that.) Had a 1.6 Liter engine Renault that would really fly (if you drove it off a cliff). Gas is about 90 cents a liter and regular is 95 octane, super is 98 octane. We stayed at B&B's every night except one. Met some funny people. Two guys were drunk as skunks driving a tractor into town on Sunday evening. They could barely walk. We had a smooth trip home and the roads were clear until we got to Indy, and they have had a lot of snow. Al in all a pretty good trip and a lot of fun.

Ed - Glad to hear all went fairly well and you enjoyed your trip. Thought for sure you would be snow bound in NYC and have to stay at Butchchee's place for a week I'll be honest,,,,,,,I missed your normal BS,,,,,,but Gatlin took your place and added some beautiful statements that made me chuckle WELCOME BACK

Thanks all. I forgot to mention we kissed the Blarney Stone. I had already kissed it so I won't have a noticable increase in BS. I guess that would be hard to accomplish, anyway. lol.

Ed, With that long snow delay... Are you sure the plane did not land in Columbus??? I still have vivid memories of a farm tractor pulling a wagon full of hay through downtown Columbus during a Friday afternoon traffic jam, when I was going to school there Damn I miss college I'm happy to hear that the two of you had a really nice trip... One place I always wanted to visit... Welcome back! WildBill This message has been edited by WildBill on 03-07-2003 at 01:02 AM
