I'm looking for an El Camino with good/great cosmetics. I can handle most mechanical stuff. Doesn't have to be an SS model. Body must be straight and rust free and hopefully near show quality for paint and chorme and interior. Looking to pay $8000 to $15,000 for "right" car.

Have you checked Hemmings Motor News? They usually have just about every kind of vehicle you can think of. http://www.hemmings.com/index.cfm

Thanks. I've tried just about all the online folks: CarTraderOnline; E-Bay; Cars-on-Line; buyclassiccars; vintagecars; NECOA; and ECC. Looking for a decent price and someone from our Prowler community to point me to a good car with a seller I can trust.

Rich,
There's a place here in the St. Louis area which has a few. I don't know any of the owners of these cars, but I took a look at a few and they all seem to be in good condition. The one I took a good look at was the 67' SS listed for $18,000, a friend of mine was pretty interested in it. Anyway, the link to the site is below, just click on "Vehicles for Sale" on the left.

Why didn't you post this last year.

There was a `69 ElCamino that was a SS 396 but the motor had been replaced with a 350(older guy bought it didn't want to pay for the big block and all it's chrome so it was switched) . It had been shown on the ISCA curcuit a few years back and still looked great. He was only asking $5,500 for it. I really wanted it, but too many cars already and no real need for it.

I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks for the site Al. I called them and they said to pass on their thanks to one of their best customers in New York. I respectfully declined to "party" however, and nobody had anything for sale that I would want!!!!
