Over the past twenty years of boating,,,,I've seen that happen twice. Not a pretty picture. Take a boating safety class. I could tell you of many nightmare stories.

here we go again, A BOAT IS A HOLE IN THE WATER YOU THROW MONEY INTO. and this was a lot of money

I have also seen some very funny, to me at least, things at the boat ramps in over 30 years.

OK one not so funny happen to me.

In `77 my parents bought a new boat and i took it to the lake and pulled it with our `70 Duster with 3 speed on the floor, wife #1 Sheila, knew how to drive a stick somewhat and she was to pull the car up the hill with the trailer once I launched the boat, she let it roll back to where the bumper was touching the water, so Phil, one of the other people from the camp came over to HELP and instructed her to push the shifter forward (this put it into reverse) then told her to let the clutch out slowly, she said no but he said this is what she should do. By the time I get the boat parked and tied up and over to the boat ramp the duster had water up to the back of the front seat, she got out and I got in but the rear of the car was floating and would not come out on it's own, so someone came down with a truck and rope and we pulled it out. I proceded to remove all the body plugs and DRAIN the water out of the trunk & rear floorboards. DAMN I LOVE BOATING

My friend had a 16' jet with a 455 OLDS that we had been working on and so I stayed on the ramp as he test drove it. While there a man, woman and 2 small children came on the ramp and HE backed the boat into the water with an older CJ Jeep, now the lady did not know how to drive a boat ( very 1st time to the lake with a NEW BOAT) and she also didn't know how to drive a vehicle with manual transmission, and my guess the Emergency brake didn't work on the jeep, HE had her put a 4"x4" block of wood behind the left rear wheel and with the jeep still running, he got in the boat and she was standing next to the drivers side of the Jeep, as he backed the boat off the trailer, (but forgot to remove the strap from the trailer to the boat) it pulled the Jeep over the 4"x4" block, at 1st he was trying to figure out what had just happened and HE unhooked the boat from the trailer as she is standing trying to hold the Jeep from rolling back (now I'm 100' or so away with LARGE rocks between me and them and I'm barefoot) as the jeep continues to roll backwards she doesn't think to jump in and put the brake on and he doesn't know what to do at this time, once the Jeep stopped the top of the windshield was barely visable, she is upset, the kids are upset and the guy is REALLY PISSED, by this time I make it over to the boat as she is holding it in the middle of a BUSY ramp and he is sitting on the windshield so no one backs into it, I tell her of my story above, and ask if she wants me to take the boat around and tie it up, she said yes and I started to walk it over to the side of the ramp, the GUY asked if I knew how to drive a boat and I told him yes, so he said just drive it around there, so I WAS THE 1ST PERSON TO DRIVE THEIR NEW BOAT, and with the help of others on the ramp a rope and another 4X4 to pull it out, now I don't know what they did after this but we were camping that weekend and the jeep sat at the campsite all weekend. What a way to start a holiday weekend

DID I SAY I LOVE BOATING....LOL...I have had alot of FUN boating and some very memorable days at the lake (5 guys skiing behind my BAJA and MOONING the 3 house boats we had rented for the weekend) trying to bearfoot off ski pole on Master Craft comp ski boat with JUST cut off jeans and having them end up around my knees twice and the girls in the boat laughing...I gave up after the 2nd time

AH, you got to love BOATING
