Do you know offhand how much it costs per day to park in long term lots, there? |

Sorry Ed, Can't help ya here - maybe some of the Chicago folks can lend a voice. (I'd say a buck-three-eighty, buy I could be wrong.) Been years since I parked at O'Hare. |

Ed: My car is there now, Lot E I believe ... $13.00 a day and the terminals are accessed by the people mover train. There are other long term options down Manheim Road, A-1 Rental and Enterprise both offer off site parking and a shuttle to the airport ... might be $10 a day or less ... but with the train running every 6 minutes its far more convienent. Or, you could park at my house, I am 15 min from O'Hare, will wash, wax and drive your car like I stole it while your gone (remember Farris Buhler's Day Off?). Cheers |

Thanks for all the help. I thought it would be much higher. Gary, that is why we consider you "almost a pro". Hack, Cincinnati airport is a Delta hub and there are no other airlines serving the airpost (except COMAIR which is owned by Delta). Most people here fly out of Dayton or Columbus, OH or Louisville, Lexington, KY or Indianapolis since the rates are hundreds of dollars cheaper per flight. It is not unusual to drive to Indy and then fly to Cincy and then on to the real destination for hundreds less. This trip we are going to Ireland and flying Aer Lingus and it only originates in Chicago, Boston and NY. We were deciding whether to rent a van to drive one way to Chicago. I can fly to Europe cheaper than flying to Chicago, literally. They have weekend deals on Delta that are outstanding but that is a last minute deal. Now you have way more info than you wanted. Thanks again, GPS, Gary, Hack and Ray. |

Ed i used to live in their parking lot.It was free but i did not have a car at the time so that might make a differance... The one thing i do remember very well is that the wood gate when you leave hit me in the head and it really did hurt. FYIPlus the handcuffs left a mark for a few weeks. |

Neal, thank you very much. We still do not know exactly what we are doing but Sandy's parents are going to go with us now and they have some lifelong friends that live nearby, but I do not know exactly where. I may take you up on your offer. We will be gone 10 days. Leaving Feb. 17th. about 7:30 PM. |

Hey, Ray, can you tell me more about that $13/day deal with the train? What exit is it from 294? Do you know the name? |

quote: It's at the remoye lot E I believe is the name. It is along the same road as the rental car lots (National, Hertz, Budget). As you are going along that road (runs parallel to Manheim) you will see an elevated train track that dead-ends at the remote parking lot (red trains run along every 6 minutes) and then goes and stops at all terminals. That's about all I can tell ya till I get home tomorrow night. Will see what name of road is, but if you follow to Rental car lots and then see the elevated tracks, you will get there. From 294 south, folow signs to O'Hare and once there I would think follow signs to either rental cars or remote parking. Hope that helps. |
