Hollywood, AC is Jack's personal counselari and we recommend him highly. AC does mostly criminal work though. Jack was recently charged with unlawful defication in the Park . AC got his charge reduced to expired dog tags! AC might be a little reluctant to take on the Toyota coupon case? As you know, AC is now the Official Curator of the Prowler Museum. I'm sure he doesn't want some Bozo showing up with coupons cashing in on what he has sworn to Protect! JWD and Chromer ------------------ |

H/W - My thoughts are the guy should get the car. I am tied up with the Diana Ross defense in Tucson, so I can't take on anymore cases right now, but my associate in LA, Al Bendover, has an open calendar if you need to use him.

I remember in 1968, one Cadilac dealer in Hollywood California have an advertised said "Will sell any car in stocked cheap as one banana" some guy brough in a banana and received from groceries store, he got kick out from the dealer. He took that dealer to court, he won the case got Cadilac at the price of a banana. The dealer should let him have the car. |

I say no way he should get the car. I think a lot of the problems today are people taking advantage of loopholes. Using spirit and intent as a guide, all he was entitled to was the one coupon discount. This message has been edited by butchcee on 01-15-2003 at 03:52 PM |

We had a similar thing happen here a few years ago at a charity golf event. A BMW was one of the hole-in-one prizes. A guy made the hole-in-one (first one in the 24 year history of the event). Believe it or not, 4 groups later another guy makes a hole-in-one on the same hole! The dealer had insurance only for one car. The dealer refused to honor second winner. The dealer and the tournament settled out of court. Today if you get hole-in-one insurance, the contract will show either insurance for multiple winners or for the FIRST hole-in-one and it must be posted as such at the tee box. ------------------ |

Why didn't the guy take in another 20 or 30 coupons and get the car and a nice cash bonus? I doubt if he gets the car but more power to him if he does. I just hope he does not put on spinner wheels and someone gets hurt and sues him and he loses it all. lol. |

No postings today? This one is great. I say dealer should pay off, but not from a legal point of view - the national advertising and goodwill would be worth more $$$ than the cost of the car. -GRROWL |
