50,000 Ohio visitors are agreeing on why four million people live in the Phx area = 77 degrees today, all sun!

Cruising weather AND great football weather!!!

Hoping for a great game to decide the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Due to so many Ohio/Florida POA members,,,,I'll remain neutral on the board for this game,,,,,,,may the best team win tonite!

The Buckeyes did pretty good, didn't they. What a game and what a finish! Univ of Cincinnati almost beat the Buckeyes earlier this year, actually gave it away in the last couple of minutes.
Wildbill, are you out celebrating?

Congrats to the Ohio-State Buckeye fans and their team for winning the national championship!!!

The Miami team has nothing to be ashamed of, as it was a hard fought, tough, truly great game. It was a toss-up until the end.

As the Nebraska fans already know,,,,,,Tempe, Az is now the "second home field" for the Buckeyes!

Celebrating??? I'm still looking for my clothes WHAT A GAME!!! The best game I have ever seen with lines on a playing surface... Always loved Super Bowl XXV to be the best ever (Helped that the Giants won), But this was an incredible game... Even if you hate football, What an exciting game... Four weeks ago I heard that Miami won 34 games in a row... I told my Mom that the Buckeyes were going to win right then & there... You see, the Buckeyes were National Champions 34 years ago in 1968... Besides... No matter what you do. You can never take the heart away from a Buckeye... Ohio State always leaves their hearts on the field....

Tressel made Miami play into his game... Taking charge of the clock & the entire coaching staff did their homework on the Miami Offense & Defense... I lost count the amount of times Miami had to change their plays at the line or even take a timeout just because the way the Bucks Defense was set up... It was almost like the Buckeyes were telling Miami which offensive plays to run... Speaking of run... There wasn't any from Miami... 64 yards total from a team that easily breaks into the triple digits every game... (My prayers are with Willis McGahee... I almost got sick when I saw it... I am surprised to see that he is already looking to come back next year... He would have gone high in the NFL draft this year, but the fact that he has the heart & desire to still play... I was afraid he would not be able to walk again... I was on the field on Defense, when I played ball years ago when a similar hit happened... It really wasn't the terrifying scream that got to me... It was sound of the snap that I can't get out of my head... No matter what is on the line, you never want to see that happen to anybody... Even a Wolverine The punishing hits handed out by the Bucks were incredible... Miami is always a lightning quick team, but when they getting hit like they were... They were going no where...

What a game saving play by Clarett when Krenzel was picked off in the endzone... Clarett overpowers the ball away from the defender as he wrestled him to the ground... That was a heads up play which you would expect from a veteran player in the NFL... Clarett is a 19 year old true Freshman studying Molecular Genetics... Hopefully he can find a way to clone himself so that the Bucks will always have him for a player. BUCKEYES Dominated!!! Both teams walked off Champions Only one team carried off the Crystal!!! @ GO BUCKS!!! @

Wait until you see the Kat this year!!!

As always... Proud to be a BUCKEYE!!!

WildBill

AlleyKat- Maybe we'll play you guys there next year!!!!I agree about the REAL race cars... Although I will probably head on down to Daytona with my Dad again this year for race...

WildBill - I think you enjoyed the game as much as me, and I haven't been a Buckeye fan before. I disliked coach Cooper,,,,two faced BSer and could not beat Michigan!

Of all the Florida teams, I always liked Florida State. Miami stole a national championship from my Huskers back in '81-'82 era, and I have always rooted for their competition since.

WildBill, I agree with everything except Clarret is the running back and it is the QB Krenzel who is the molecular guy.
They beat UC by 4 points, but I do not mean that in a negative way. I was glad to be an Ohioan. Too bad they couldn't sell any tickets to the Ohio fans. lol.

I felt that Miami was beatable,,,,,,after they nearly got beat by Rutgers!!! I wouldn't consider Rutgers a national, powerhouse threat to any top 10 division 1 team. JMO

Ed, what are you talking about selling tickets to Ohio fans?

A/C, it looked like about 65,000 of the fans in the stands were Buckeye fans, it was in jest.

AlleyCat - Glad you enjoyed the game & glad we had you on our side We played Miami in the Kickoff Classic in 1999 I just had graduated back in the Spring of '98... We got spanked too... Bad calls attributed to the loss along with the fact that they played really dirty ball... Cooper didn't know how to handle it. Miami was throwing knees & elbows after the whistle, stepping on downed players on several accounts. Their fans were even worse. There was a group of 10+ Miami students behind us & they would throw anything they got their hands on, & were really foul mouthed (mind you... I was born in the Bronx). The game was right after the team was just coming off of probation from illegal mumbo-jumbo & they also had a huge problem with some of the players brought up on major drug charges. Whenever they chanted "Let's go Canes" my group & I would yell louder "SNORT COCAINE" They changed to a different cheer shortly after... Throughout the game I would turn around & say "taunt me all you want but watch your mouths" I mean there were a lot of little kids there as well as women & I had family there as well (Mom included)... I am not a violent person a complete gentleman... But with all of the foul mouthed trash they were talking; eventually by the middle of the third quarter I couldn't take anymore... Especially after one really dirty comment which I can't repeat... With this I stood up in my college football jersey, turned around & said "Your mouth better be able to sign a check your A$$es can cash" With this one of my buddies yelled "Oh No... They got WildBill mad!" & meant it... I sat back down to watch the game expecting some sort of retaliation (more beer or pretzels thrown) I never heard another word until someone tapped me on the shoulder a few plays later... Thinking it was one of them ready to sucker punch me I didn't turn around at first until I heard a voice of a lady telling me that my "friends" had left... She said you just cleared out the entire section & she said thank you as well... She was there with her two small children & her niece...She told me that she was ready to start throwing punches before halftime I guess what I am trying to say is that Miami fans are dirty & vulgar but have no backbone...

About Cooper... Don't get me started... You hit it right on the head AC... His whole family was very annoying as well... His countless losses to Michigan & several losses in easy Bowl games really made me sick... & I was still excited to try out for the team... When he finally won the Rose Bowl I was worried that the Alumni elders would call him a God & keep him around for another 10 years... Anybody could have won with that team... Eddie George, Bobby Hoing, Orlando Pace, Ricky Dudley, Terry Glenn, Sean Springs... The list goes on & on... The entire team basically went in the first round to the NFL Draft that year... All you heard during the game was that these were Coopers players... Cooper is a moron plain & simple... I don't think he even knew if the ball was inflated or stuffed... He did recruit the players, but he lost a lot too... I worked for the Athletic Department in my final years in college, & assisted in the recruitment of many of the players... He lost players that were a shoe-ins... His son/Side-line cable handler caused major problems in the bars out there, knowing that he could never get into any trouble... Acting like a Kennedy... His daughter somehow got a job as a sports broadcaster on one of the local channels... She was a pompous handful as well. Glad we cleaned house... Where are they now??? By the way... Rutgers can only play two quarters... I was rooting for them as well...I think Miami took them for granted, but Rutgers always leave game in the locker room at halftime... Shame too.

Ed... It was a close one with Cincinnati this year & was happy to see them on the schedule... I agree about Krenzel he was the outstanding leader of the offense... Very smart with the ball as well a natural leader... Thankful he is only a Junior I was worried that I was writing too much again Oops I did it again... I was going to talk about him as well as Patterson on Defense playing his career best thus far.
This past year Tressel picked up 2 of the top High School QBs in the country... Troy Smith - Who must have been cast from the Michael Vick mold who could double as a receiver & Justin Zwick who is am incredible pocket QB... They will both be fighting for the backup job next year, but feel the it will go to Smith. All we loss on Offense is Chris Vance a backup receiver & a few veterans on defense. Only thing is that you never know with college ball... As far as the tickets... They were hard to come by... Of course the Alumni whom donate 7-digits every year get first dibs on the tickets... Sorry not there yet... I could have purchased a package through the University in the neighborhood of $2,800 plus airline tickets... The other problem was I had to work this past weekend Sat & Sun... We do stand out in the crowd though, all in red... I remember going to a game against BC at Giants Stadium & you would not have known that any BC fans were there at all... All I heard on TV this past game was the OSU Band "TBDBITL" & the fans cheering... On several occasions you would hear the chant go around the stadium O-endzone H-sideline I-opp. endzone O-opp. sideline... It was like playing back in the Shoe...

GO BUCKS!!!

I don't follow college football since UC is usually not very good. They somehow win a BIG game avery couple of years but still only win 3 to 6 games. They do not draw at all. High School football outdraws UC. We did watch the Ohio State game the other night. I just had a feeling it was going to be a game I wanted to see. Thank goodness that I did.
The part that was great was the fact that they played as a team. There were some stars that had big plays but they just played old fashioned HARD football.
What a welcome relief from the Bengals.
I just saw Cincinnati was voted last for pro sports for any city with two pro teams. I could have told them that without any type of poll. How can you overcome the Bengals?
I figured you would be pretty proud, WildBill. As well you ought to be.

WildBill - great story! Glad to see you are a avid football fan.

Ed - I'm thinking the Cardinals are as bad as the Bengals Yes, there seemed to be 65,000 Ohio people here for the game. Just like when Nebraska plays in Tempe,,,,,the Big Red fans fill the house,,,,,makes it look like a home game, lol.

Go Buckeyes!

Go Huskers! (well, maybe next year)
