Coming home from a late night dinner after taking in a Christmas play, I got pulled over last night about midnight. Seems I had a headlight out. The officer said he thought it was an awesome car, asked what year it was, and then told me to get back in the casr while he wrote me a citation for faulty equipment. No comments about no bumpers, no running lights, loud exhaust, or no windshield wipers - just have to get new bulb for the headlight!

Marty,

Didn't you tell him you had the headlight wired to the engine cylinders? Hence only one of two were working. What else is only going at 50%?

Thought I was going to get mine last night. I was doing about 9 over the speed limit with Gina following me in the Durango (with a truck load of 12 year olds) and all of a sudden I see the Highway Patrol coming up fast on me with his lights a-going.

I guess he had a call to go to because he went in front of me, hit his brakes and got off the freeway.

Whew.

Marty 'ol buddy,

If you'd like to give the peace officers badge number and mailing address..I'd be glad to bring the other "faulty equipment" infractions to his attention .

AC - nope, not "Nutcracker". As hard as it may be for you to fathom that I would actually enjoy "the Arts", we have attended Holiday plays for years and even have been series tickets holders at the theater. We met some friends for drinks and appetizers (now I know yoiu can believe that) and saw "TUNA CHRISTMAS" for the fifth time. This cast (two actors) put a totally different spin on the various charactors they portrayed. I'm just glad I didn't join the other two guys in the bar during intermission.

Very timely post since I was pulled over for speeding in GRROWL last night. This is what followed:

Officer: Do you know how fast you were going?
Reply: I'd be embarrassed if is was less than 100.

Officer: May I see your driver's license?
Reply: I don't have one. It was suspended when I got my 5th DUI.

Officer: May I see the registration card for this vehicle?
Reply: It's not my car. I stole it.

Officer: The car is stolen?
Reply: That's right. But come to think of it, I think I saw the registration card in the glove box when I was putting my gun in there.

Officer: There's a gun in the glove box?
Reply: Yes sir. That's where I put it after I shot and killed the woman who owns this car and stuffed her in the trunk.

Officer: There's a BODY in the TRUNK?!?!?
Reply: Yes, sir.

Hearing this, the officer immediately called his captain. I was quickly surrounded by police officers and the captain approached to handle the tense situation:

Captain: Sir, can I see your license?
Reply: Sure. Here it is.

Captain: Whose car is this?
Reply: It's mine, officer. Here's the registration card.

Captain: Could you slowly open your glove box so I can see if there's a gun in it?
Reply: Yes, sir, but there's no gun in it (opened empty glove box).

Captain: Would you mind opening your trunk? I was told there's a body in there.
Reply: No problem (opened trunk, no body).

Captain: I don't understand it. The officer who stopped you said you didn't have a license, stole the car, had a gun in the glove box, and that there was a dead body in the trunk.
Reply: Yeah, and I'll bet the lying bastard told you I was speeding, too.

-GRROWL

(I bet it was the body in the trunk that gave it away, right?)

Of course!

Everyone knows a dead body won't fit in the trunk! You have to chop it into really small pieces first! Some parts have to be stuffed behind the seat too...
