Karen and I were up in Nachitoches, LA for the Festival of Lights this past weekend (Fri thru Sun) joining some of our Vette friends. We had the mini car show, gumbo, parade, fireworks display and had the chance to scrape off a little frost or ice off our windows on Saturday morning... We saw one outstanding Classic Car. Seems Chevy made a mistake and not made this there 50th anniversary special for the Corvette.

Steve and Donna Lyons had their Commenrative 50th car out for it's first cruise. This is really a classic looking Vette (53 body on a C5 frame). Very nicely done and truly a classic look. It's made by company AAT out of MI. You supply a used C5 and they do the makeover... Here's a link to web site that has more pics and story behind the story... http://www.chazcone.com/50th/

We also had our annual allotment of Nachitoches meat pies from Lasyone and that will hold us over until next trip.. In spite of the chilly weather Karen and I had a good time...

Here's some pics...

Here's a 360 Madero Ferrari I think ...

Wow, what a great idea. That is a cool looking ride. It costs almost $30K plus a late model Vette so it is kind of pricey but totally neat.
Laddie, do you have any idea how long it takes them to complete the transformation? I realize that would depend on how many were in line just ahead of you but do you have a ballpark figure?

Ed.

Eight weeks to do makeover.

Steve said they actually completed his in seven weeks. It was a surprise B-Day present for his wife. He actually bought the car in Lafayette, LA (their hometown) off a Chevy dealer lot (he new the previous owner). It was an 01 white convertible low mileage and still under warranty...

I wish you would NOT have posted those pictures because I REALLY like that a lot. That is awesome. We were just talking last week about why doesn't someone come up with a way to reproduce the 57 Chevy, etc. These guys came up with a once in a lifetime idea. It is located in Rochester Hills so maybe CJ can get us a discount since she is a neighbor. lol

I think I am correct that this car was at The Woodward Dream Cruise 2001. That is much better looking than the new Corvette or any Vette since the 60's.

The Prowler may have been a major influence on this car.....I was unaware the car was being produced in any form, thought it was a concept only...VERY IMPRESSED !!!

I have always love Vettes, but the current C5 50th ann. is a stiff! This car is hot, it makes me glad I own a cool looking 2002 Prowler. If I had the $$$$ I would get one... I am really thankful that I have a PROWLER!!!
