Anyone watch that last night? It was on motorcycles and mostly the history of Indian and Harley (pretty interesting stuff) but, the coolest thing was one of Jay Leno's bikes. It was a crotch rocket bike by a company called MTT. Then it started to whine and spool up like you were standing next to a Bell Ranger JET helicopter. Why? Because it had a Bell Ranger JET engine in it!!!!!!Sounded awesome. Jay said it was a slug off the line as hp increased with speed. At 20 ft. it had only 50 hp, at 50 it had 100 hp at 100 it had 200hp, and so on. The bike had been clocked at 245mph and with alot more room in the throttle. Price tag: $185K Neat bike!!!!!!!! |

Under the fairing is some of the most advanced turbine technology of our time. The Rolls Royce Allison 25O-C18 Turbine, originally designed for helicopters, was modified and mounted upside down in the frame. It feeds on anything that burns. Fresh out of jet fuel? Just serve it up some diesel or kerosene! If it burns and you can pour it in the tank, the engine will run. AWESOME!! The bike rolls on carbon fiber wheels and the frame, suspension and electronics are state of the art. The "rear view mirror" consist of a rear mount camera and a monitor mounted in the dash. Could this be the future of High Performance street bikes? The Dash Here it is guys/gals: The bike and Company This message has been edited by YellowFever on 12-04-2002 at 01:37 PM |
