One of the guys at the office just got his new Carrera GT. Beautiful car but he states that it would blow away my Kat!! I told him a fact of life, "You might have the speed but when we stop at a light, just who do you think will draw the most attention?" He looked at the Kat and said "well you might be right there".... He GETS IT!!

Fred - he may have a 200 MPH car and it may be able to do 0-60 in under 4 seconds in the car magazines. Your kat has done 0-60 in 4.1 seconds in the real world. I think you should race him stoplight to stoplight, and then see how impressed he is!!

Do you mean GT3? The Carrera GT is a 2-seater supercar without a roof that does not look like any other Carrera or Porsche for that matter. Price tag is estimated to be about $350K. I say estimated cause they have not released or made them yet.

It's also a niche car and they are only going to make a couple hundred of them. All orders had to be confirmed before they would begin production and once those few were made, that was the end of it (I am on the list. Don't plan on keeping it though).

Not quite sure, I'm not a Porsche person but it is a 2 seater convertable, silver color and one of the other guys tells me it runs in the $120,000 range. He also said it is a twin turbo.. If I had to pick a look, it has a Viper look to it.

Of course the Prowler has more style no matter which Porsce model he has. If it is a $120,000 car he could have Porsche Boxster S plus two Prowlers!!!

Could it be a kit car? Seriously, there is no Porsche that fits all that criteria currently made.

The 911 turbo has a sticker around $120K but, only available as a coupe. could be construed as a 2-seater as the back seats a very tiny and can fold down.

The 911 GT2 is a faster lighter version of the turbo but, it stickers for about $181K. I think this is a 2-seater but, it too is also only a coupe

The radially different Carrera GT is a 2-seater, looks sorta similar to the new viper, is strictly a roadster but, there is no way to get one at a price lower then a regular turbo. This is a $350K car. Relatively speaking, only a handful are going to be made so there is no way Porsche would do this for less (or equal) price then a turbo. Not to mention the fact, you can't get one yet.

I suspect your buddy has a kit conversion, I saw a conversion car that mimiced the Carrera GT a couple of years ago. Can't remember what they were selling it for, but, I'd be willing to bet that is what this guy has (since the real thing is not available yet)

Here is the Porsche link under press releases: http://www3.porsche.com/english/usa/news/modelinformation/carreragt/default.htm
