Larry - Big guy will have clear sailing today, and I'll start checking forcasts ahead and call him tomorrow.

You might have Indiana State Patrol on stanby,,,,,looking for big Ram truck sliding off the road,,,,with large man in driver's seat with a load in his pants

I'm glad he has decided to take a route that will keep him West of town and from driving through Louisville. Our roads will be safer on Sunday evening/Monday morning!!

I just talked with Gary about 45 minutes ago and at that time he had just left San Diego. He was about 60 miles east of there in the mountains. Looks like good weather for his drive today.

I am shocked!

I realize that you are all watching the weather for the trip and reporting it to the Big Guy on a regular basis. This is another visual demonstration of the caring attitude of the members of the POA. WOW, what a group of young wiper snappers!

I am shocked that Gary did not contact me for a list of "fresh stuffs" in each of the cities along the way. A rest stop, and some fine female companionship could go a long way toward easing the tensions of this long road trip.

I can assure you all that at 116 years old, I have them in every city. I could have at least let him meet the ones between 24 and 32 and that would have been somewhere around 60 on his stated route.

Anyway, their loss! Gotta run as my Flutie Flakes are starting to wilt in the bowl. It is in the eighties here in California today and I promised Dew Bun we would take out the old long board and do some serious surfing.

Well, the sun went down (as usual, this time of day),
and the flurries are starting to stick. First snow of
the year - hoping it doesn't accumulate.
Sunday it should get up to 48 degrees.

The Big Guy...AKA Gray called and left message...said he was only 1,800 miles out...as of now SMOOTH SAILING INTO INDY...roads are dry and clear

This is almost like snata track on christmas eve....watching the big guy AKA Santa travel across the land in a red and white sleigh

Scot - You are "way" off base here,,,,we are not leading him on a safe path, but to the roads that will be a sheet of ice! The fine people of Indy are behind this manuever to prevent him from reaching there. They shipped him out west many decades ago, and don't want him back!

Mr. Cat,

Trust me when I tell ya that if he stopped to see one of the "fresh stuffs" that I had in mind, I doubt that he would ever leave. She would hurt him real bad and the people of Indiana would be forever in my debt.

Anyway, I heard from the Big Guy several times yesterday when he stopped to tank up and drain down and he seemed fine.

I gotta run as it is Sunday and we all know that Dew Bun prepares the traditional "pand-a-cake" breakfast and afterward we go to the beach where all of the fresh things try to ride my long board into the surf. They don't make boards like my old one any more and everyone tries to buy it.

Later,

The Old Man

Gary is cruising along about 80 miles outside of Texarkana. Sounds a little tired (sleeping in the truck is not the best sleep) but he's got great weather so far. Hope it holds out for the whole trip!

Weather will be good until he gets close to Indiana, then acceptable the rest of the way.
