Just wondering how many of you all here have seen the wheels that keep spinning when you stop? I've seen a few sets around here on Escalades and Mercedes.

If you have what do you think of them, and would you put them on a Prowler?

I'm debating on getting a set, but I don't know if they make them for the Prowler yet.

C-note, you know anything about these?

What does everyone think?

Ron

Cnote has them on his pick up. They are a real attention grabber when you come to a stop. As of a month ago they were not available in 17" size - only larger sizes. Maybe they will have smaller ones soon.

Why would you want the rims to keep spinning when the car is stopped? Sounds like one of those lo-rider do-dads.

Maybe you could drag some metal strips to spark up the freeway when cruising too ....

Look, if they DIDN'T notice the Prowler, they aren't going to notice the rims

YF: It's a rim that has an inset that spins. If you haven't seen them on a vehicle, maybe you should hold your remarks until you do.

Ron: Marty's right, they are really cool. Chris should be able to keep you posted when and if they make them in the smaller sizes for the kat. Chris has alot of really nice rims, contact CNote and he should be able to fix you up with some very nice rims for your kat. Tami

YF: I respect your opinion on the rims, not everyone has the same tastes... But as far as it being for Low Riders (which to me have the image of gangsters, scum, or punks)
I'd have to disagree with you there.... Maybe you consider a Low Rider something different so I guess I'd have to see what you mean by the term "Low Rider".

Just so you know many of the rims like this cost upwards of $10,000-$14,000 a set.

In my opinion they should not go on any car that isn't worth at least double what they cost or close, and most low riders that I have seen I wouldn't pay $10,000 for.

That pretty much captured the essence of my view of a low rider.

Money does not equate, in all cases, with taste. I also see alot of gangster/lo-rider type driving high dollar Escalades, Blackwoods, Navigators, etc. al with 24" rims, stereos that bust windows, and gold plated everything. I suspect that if they can afford a $50K truck, $10K rims are a snap.

In my opinion they should not go on any car that isn't worth at least double what they cost or close, and most low riders that I have seen I wouldn't pay $10,000 for.

Don't kid yourself, some of these guys have paid as much for their custom paint jobs and air shocks as I did for my Prowler. Granted, I wouldn't give them 50 cents for them but, each has their own taste and money doesn't necessaril equate with taste.

I'd also bet you see more of those type of rims on souped up Civics and Impalas then you will on Ferrari's, Vipers, or Prowlers.....

01 Prowler, yea, those rims are cool. I have seen them on a Yukon XL here in the Cincinnati area. Would look way cool on a Prowler, but real pricey.

YF - I agree with your statement above about Ferraris and Vipers. Owners of thoise vehicles are much less inclined to modify the appearance of their cars. Many of us Prowler Owners however are "into" mods such as flames, removing bumpers, getting rid of winsdshield wipers and sun visors; some even remove fenders. I would say some Prowler Owners may go for the "Spinner Look" just as they have added nean lights and wheel valve lights and lots of chrome parts.

I thought the Chrome Wheel Spinners were in the $4000 range. One of the great things about the Prowler is that everyone can make the car reflect their own tastes. I will pass on the spinners myself, but might go for a set of full moon wheels in the future.

Happy Prowling

Marty, now you're talking!!! I always thought that a set of Moon discs would look great on a Prowler. I have looked in the Moon catalog and been to their shop, and the only way to attach their 20" discs is with three self-tapping screws into the bead of the wheel

For those seriously considering the spinning rims, Moon also makes a tailpipe flamethrower kit for about $100.00...

I think the flamethrower would go better with a set of full moons.

I'm still thinking on getting the grill that opens up and a skull comes shooting out at you,,,,ala some Prowler whacko,,,,now that is lo-rider, gangbanger, homeboy crap for sure!

I'd have to see the spinner wheels first, before giving my opinion.

After the comments made about my door ding I said I would keep my mouth shut but its just JMO here we go.

The term Low Rider stems from the lowered look of the car and in most cases have thousands of dollars in hydrulic or air systems to control the height of the car off the ground also now used in the moderen day show and street rod cars the paint also thought you may not like the color ar pictures on the car cost plenty of dinero, the pride of ownership in most of these cars is as high as those of us owning prowlers and sometimes more, the cost of a lot of the "LOW RIDERS" is in some cases more then you have in your Prowler unless you bought in 98 for over 100K

shut my mouth

For as much as we all complain about the tabs on the Prowler center caps breaking, imagine the complaints we'd hear with rims with MOVING PARTS! For instance, "The bearings are going out", "My left front keeps sticking", "My right front makes a squeeking sound"...

I'm happy with what I got.

Actually Cash Money owns three Prowlers (Silver, Black and Red) and I think a couple other rappers own Prowlers (mostly silver and black I believe). There is a picture of Cash Money's Silver Prowler with color matched bumpers in one of the latest magazines (For those playing the home game, I think Rolling Stone, it's the one with Christina Aguilera mostly naked on the cover... very hard to miss). For a contrast to the rappers, Ted Nugent owns a silver Prowler.

I think they look dumb. And not to mention dangerous. Jaguar has them as an option in the Tampa Bay area.

I think it's a matter of personal taste.

I personally like the appearance of the stock chome wheels, but obviously cNote likes the spinners on his pickup.

If it's a mod you want to to, GO FOR IT!
