Spent quite a lot of time lately going thru and sorting pix of cars, family etc. etc......found bunches of pix of different visits to Mack Ave(old Viper plant) and CAAP.....brought back lots of memories....was just curious if most of us got the opportunity to tour the plant....it was a spectacle to be sure.....I was at Mack and CAAP diferent times and enjoyed every minute of each visit....cordial hosts, nice facilities and lotsa beautiful cars....

I was fortunate to visit the CAAP plant when the Deep Candy Red came off the line and the tribute to all of the CAAP workers. A memorable time to remember.

We were at CAAP 3 times. In 2000, during the Woodward Dream Cruise and the Black Tie was being built. Woodward DC 2001 and the Inca Gold was being built. Last Triubute tour Feb 15th 2002 and the Candy Red was being built. We remember each one as being fantastic, but the Last Tribute is one that was the most special. We will never ever forget that day. It was an amazing day and something that only comes along once in a lifetime. Thank You CJ for arranging it.

Attended CAAP I with the original PPC back in '99 and went through solo on one of my trips to the Motor City. Just not the same now with no Kats being produced!

We went thru the plant in late June of 2000 while the Orange was being produced but before it was announced. They let us take pictures and it turned out they weren't supposed to let us take pictures, I guess. We were the only non-employees in the tour and most of it was spent on the Viper line. We also were privileged to attend the CAAP tribute in Feb., but that seems like two years ago, already. A bittersweet day, for sure. We had previously gone to the plant in the summer of 99 but it was the first day back after the two week shutdown and we did not get in to see it. It was a very interesting place and I am really glad we made it both times.

Went on CAAP tour in Fall '99 with old PPC. We also visited the paint facility. It was definitely a treat! Wonderful to meet all the people - an experience I'll never forget!

I've been there 5 times and I would have to agree that the Tribute day was by far the most special trip of them all. It's still very heart warming that we were able to bid farewell, express our gratitude and say thank you to everyone that built our Prowlers!

A special thank you definitely goes out to CJ and Bob Longstreth and Cindy Henderson (plant manager) for making it possible!

Here's a link to some pictures of my first plant tour.

Here's a link to the Online Tribute that everyone contributed to and My Prowler and Me pictures that were given to each of the Craftsmen and Craftswomen at the Conner avenue Plant on CD during Tribute day along with a plaque expressing our appreciation.
