Ed, I could be wrong about this but when I left Ohio and moved out west no one knew what the heck I was talking about when I mentioned this Holiday. Is it just an Ohio thing or what. My father always got all the girls in the family chocolates in celebration. Is everyone else aware of the Holiday or did my past boyfriends out west just tell me they never heard of it so they could forgo the chocolates?

I have no idea what holiday you guys are referring to. Brenda is away at an insurance convention so I guess I'm safe.

Taz, I told Sandy that same story. When I was in the Army no one else ever heard of it. It is a local rip off, only, apparently.

Ed, I know you are older and wiser than I but I think that this tradition is a very old one. I will put my research skills to the test and see I can find out it's origins. I'll let you know if I find something. It just might be one of the few holidays that Hallmark did not create.

In the meantime chocolates are welcome non the less. Do you have Mrs. Price's chocolates in Cini or was that just a Dayton thing?

Taz, we have Mr. Prices, much cheaper. lol. Yes we do have Mrs. Prices and also a couple of locals. Aglamesis (?) Bros and Fawn Candies not to mention Graeter's. There used to be two national card companies that were based locally so it may have been their scheme way back when.

Sweetest Day is not specific to just Ohio!! Michigan and Colorado have been on that band wagon for a long time..... or maybe is was just because I didn't let Bob forget about it!?
