The last (er, next to last) Camaro went for a paultry $71,500. There was nothing special or different about it other then the fact it was the next to last.

I bet he'll feel more like an idiot when they bring it back in a few years or so along with the Firebird (and yes, THEY will bring them both back again, unlike the Prowler)

I agree YF. I remember when Cadillac made "the last convertible" that will ever be made in America. Some guy that likes convertibles bought a half dozen or more because they weren't going to make anymore.

It was just a few years that passed till they started making convertibles again. Was that guy pissed? He sure was!

The Camaro and Firebird are icons of GM. All they are doing right now is thining the herd a bit since there are tons of late model ones in godd condition out there.

Once that supply starts to dwindle (I'd say in 3-5 years) watch for the "NEW-IMPROVED" cars to hit the road, if not sooner.

Mark my word, you have not seen the last of either.

Having owned 5 Camaros.....I say "good riddance" My last was a 98 Z-28 that was cool but I am so sick of GM's "rubbermaid" interiors....That goes for the Vette too!

I love my 2002 white SS camaro convertible. Yes, I agree the interior could be better, but it's a muscle car! My SS is SLP #6666.
They produced 11,191 SS Camaros this year.

The Camaro and the Firebird use to be hot looking cars. They stop making because of no sales, heres a know brainer... They needed a cool hot design.

How about 1969? I mean, Ford went retro with the T-Bird, Chevy with the SR5 truck (or whatever it's called). Both *after* the Prowler and PT Cruiser started the retro revolution. So how about a 2009/1969 Camaro?

Mike, you may be onto something. The 2004 Mustang is supposed to look alot like the 60's stangs from what I've seen in spy photos and sketches.

All you have to look forward to is the SSR. Jury is out on that one.

The Cheby SSR is a V8 and will be slower than an 03 PT Cruiser Turbo 4 cyl!

From what I am hearing, they are selling (or pre-selling) like hotcakes. Of course, so does any novel car the minute it's released.

Not surprising, there are alot of Japeanese turbos out there that are faster then alot of V-8's. Heck even some of there normally aspirated models are faster.

I don't think the SSR is being sold as a drag racer but, same sa the prowler, with an abundance of sharable parts and the ability to create your own v-8 monster (if that is what you want).

I'm not sold on the SSR, I'll need to see it in real life and let the hoopla of the first year or two die down so the price is not so inflated.

I did look at the PT for the wife and kiddos and decided it was too anemic and too small. Bought them a Durango with a huge V-8 in it. While not extremely fast, it is real peppy and can haul a house if need be.
