Hollywood Prowler Junkie Posts: 543 From: Riverview, FL Registered: FEB 2002	posted 08-10-2002 03:56 AM Fri Aug 9, 2:16 PM ET DETROIT (Reuters) - The Chrysler arm of DaimlerChrysler AG said on Friday that it has recalled all 464,315 of its 2001 and 2002 PT Cruisers to install a redesigned seal in a fuel pump after a fuel leak was discovered following a government crash test. Chrysler said it knew of no incidents or complaints of the fuel leak problem, but it initiated the recall to reduce the possibility of a leak in a severe collision. Chrysler discovered the problem in May and did an internal review since to find out how the leak occurred. "We haven't seen any issues out there in the real world, but from the results of the government crash test, we thought this was a precautionary move," said Chrysler spokeswoman Ann Smith. Smith said the seal will be fixed in as quick as an hour. DaimlerChrysler shares were up 33 cents at $43.83 on the New York Stock Exchange in early afternoon trading. ------------------

The example of how Firestone and Ford handled their exploding tire problem, was a joke. Now, if they would admit our center caps are crap and have Am. Racing make new ones, I'd be happy.
